I was looking to upgrade my shuffle, as I listen to a lot of music on my bike.

Apparently the new ipod nano is pretty much an i touch - shuffle, with a clip

Brings up an interesting point which is a bit of a point on controversy here. Listening to the ipod/music while riding, some thing it should be gone as your full attn isnt on the road. I think its BS and hardly any different than a car stereo.

My headphones aren't noise isolating and I rarely ride in traffic. Just have to be responsible.

If it's done responsibly I have no problem with it, but Some will listen cranked, be rocking out, and not paying attention. But then there's folks that do the same with car stereo, and lay the seat so far back they can't see over the dash. So what's the difference, right?

I'm most interested in the new iPod touch.

About time to make that purchase. My old iPod is almost 5 years old and the screen is cracked.

I loved the 2nd generation ipod shuffle. It was a clip with buttons. It was a perfect design. You could see what was playing but who cares it was a shuffle

You can pick up refurbished ones online for about $40 from apple.

I have the orange 2nd gen shuffle, it's been great. The only thing I don't like about is the sound quality. I bought some new headphones and I wasn't impressed with the sound from the 2g shuffle, although they sound great on my 2nd gen itouch. So I'm looking for better sound quality.

FYI, the new shuffles are going back to the clip design and only $50. They will be slightly smaller, have VoiceOver, playlists, 2gb of space, and most importantly. They brought back the orange color

I'm not really a fan of the new nano. It's not so much losing the click-wheel, but more along the lines that the new nano's touchscreen is TOO small.

The new iPod touch looks to be the most significant upgrade over a previous generation yet, so I think it'd last me pretty well before obsolescence.

If I can use the new nano like the 2nd gen shuffle, the screen size will be perfect, at least for my use

The best new ipod will be the 4th generation IPod Touch. It comes equipped with two cameras, records in HD, ability to video chat using FaceTime, edit movies, surf the net, watch movies, listen to music - it's got it all except the ability to dial numbers

Geez, and my iPod just plays music!

I think I'm going to wait for the model that cooks me breakfast. That's a must-have feature, IMO

I just use my EVO for music when I'm running. That way I have my phone as well in case of an emergency.
