Hey everybody, I am going to be going to Blossom Music Center for the first time in a few weeks for the Zac Brown Band concert with lawn seat tickets. I am just looking for any info as far as what I am allowed to bring. How early I should arrive and just any other tips or suggestions. Thanks in advance.

It's been a few years but I know you can't bring in chairs. You might be able to bring a blanket to sit on but on the lawn you're probably going to be standing.

Be sure to check out the woods along route 8, for old times sake.

If the show is sold out (or close to it) GO EARLY! Getting in and out of Blossom can be a biotch! It's just a regular street going in and out of the place. (one lane in each direction - for about 5 miles from the highway). Some parts of the road have one of those turn only lanes that they use but that's only for part of it.

Saw Zac in Toledo first of July, Awsome show you'll really enjoy it......

Check out Sonia Leigh sound, she's one of Zac's warm up singers. We bought one of her albums at the concert and love it, she's got a great country sound. enjoy,.....

Get there real early. They set up random dui/drug check points. I got screwed for a Jimmy Buffett concert there once. They targeted our car and made us go in behind a church as I recall. They had drug sniffing dogs, checked for alcohol, the whole nine yards. HUGE inconvenience and ended up costing us about 4 or 5 songs. IT wasn't the quick check the cops have you believe; at least not in my case. I recall ranting about this on this board years ago.

Don't drink in the parking lot. About the only way to get away with that is drinking in a limo, but I have heard people getting hit doing that too.

Also its my understanding that beer at Blossom is now $10 a cup.

Geez, I remember a time when we took booze in with our picnic baskets and blankets to sit out on the lawn... Course, I haven't been there since the early 80's so I'm apparently out of touch with what it's like today..

Yeah, it used to be a great time, but once all the crap happened to me with everyone clean as a whistle in our car, I wrote the place off. I will never go there again. It was like Gestapo. Heck there were even people sitting at the end of their driveways reporting people in line with open containers. I know they were because I asked one what all the people were doing sitting at the end of their drives.

Its been a few years since all this happened, so it will take someone with more recent experience to say if this still goes on, but I would guess it does. When it comes to stuff like this, they seem to always get worse instead of better.

I haven't been to blossom in about 15 years but what I remember most about Blossom is how long it takes to get out of there. We had about an hour and ten minuted drive to get there and it would take us 1 1/2 hours plus to get out of the lot.

Also, they used to do random dui checkpoints coming into blossom way before it was chic. They used to have plainclothes with binoculars on the side of the road, cops up in trees, random checkpoints. And if they found even a passenger drinking, over went the car and everything would be unloaded off on the side of the road. It always seemed like the heavier the band was, the worse the cops were, maybe it was just me. Also, they started checking for people drinking/smoking the weed in the parking lot. The whole deal was a hassle. Don't know what it is like now.

Much rather would go to star lake or somewhere else.

i was there about a month ago or so for a phish concert. we got to the parking lot an hour after lot opened, around 3.

it raged till show. open drinking, smoking weed not so open, but easy to see. we partyed in lot till show.

after the show it was nutts! nitrous tanks every 10 yrds thru a couple hundred yrds of shakedown. so many people doing what ever they wanted. cops couldnt do anything. they just rode thru on golf carts. every now and then. great lot for a show imo. crazy, typical phish lot though.

plus the pavilion is beautiful. love me some blossom
