I have searched everywhere and it seems a lot of people are having the same problem as me. I keep getting an error code when trying to connect the Wii to the internet. I changed the channel on the router like one site said, but I still get the error codes. Any body else having this problem?

Cool, thanks man. I am using a netgear wireless router. It finds the access point just fine, but for some reason I can not connect.

check your firewall it might be blocking the wii's ability to connect to the net....
i would google the error code....all sorts of stuff out there and there are hundreds of error codes....so it could be anything....
sometimes you have to configure your ip address and dns servers too....

It's working great now. I messed around with so many of the router setttings I am not sure which one did it. I think it might have been the norton security that was preventing it from connecting.

I had a problem wiht my ps3 earlier, but I think it was that specific game though. The companies need to make it a lot easier to figure out these internet settings, seriously.

Actually it doesn't, the interface sucks, and you have to pay like 100-$200 to use it... I can't help but to have my playstation glasses on.

Owns all what? Your money? Playstation online is free, and I have never had a problem with it. I can't wait untill the wii has games available to play online.

Wii is the only other syetem I would even consider buying, because of the massive old school game catalog.
You can play Goldeneye right?

Once they add it to the cataloge of games, yes. They add about 4 games every Monday, so it will take some time to get them all.

LMAO.
It's $5 a month.
That is nothing for a superior product.
Oh, a 5 year old can use the interface. Can't understand why you would have such a problem.

Like I said, it's $5 a month. So, if that is "all your money"....you may want to upgrade your life a little.
I've have known a few people with their playstations....and when their consoles weren't dying on them, they could rarely connect the Sony's "service" or when they did, it was extremely laggy.
That's what happens when you allow people with dial-up connect to your service.

If you need to result to personal attacks over a little game, maybe you need to upgrade your life a little, little guy. I said all your money, not all my money. Plus, this thread was about the wii, and you wanted to add a comment about x-box live.

I have to say, XBox live is incredible. I've never played PS3 or the Wii online, but MSFT did a great job with XBox live. I'd be surprised if the PS3 and Wii stay free for online services down the road. Keep in mind that the XBox got a 1 year jump on these guys, so they have to do something to attract your dollars. Running an online gaming service is not cheap to say the least, so sooner or later you may see costs for playing online with all the services.

Wow. Looks like someone needs to grow somw thicker skin.
You obviously have not been around long enough to know of our wii vs xbox vs playstation "debates" we get into.
It's all in good fun.
Down with the wii people!!

I agree.
A lot of people say that paying $5 a month automatically makes it suck because sony's and wii's service is free.
Well, there is a reason they are free. I pay a little for a much better service.

I have never played X box live, so I really can't voice an oppinion on which one is better. From what I have heard X-box live is great. Probably the best. To be honest, I can't believe that Playstation online, and Wii online is free of charge. I also think eventially they will all charge a fee, which is fine with me.

To each their own, and it doesn't matter to me one way or the other as I don't own a console.
But what makes X-Box live better? I'm just curious.

i don't have an xbox, but from what i've heard 5 bucks a month is nothing...but heres the thing....they charge it cause they can....where was there competition? there was nothing comparable for the ps2 or cube....
pc's have all sorts of free online gaming...then you have the pay games like warcraft, but the majority is free....
i think that when the wii, and the ps3 put together a reputable online gaming setup for free, then ms will follow suit....
free doesn't mean crappy....its just the edge they need to erode xbox's dominace of online console gaming....
