Coach's Girlfriend's Mom Sent Lewd Video Coach's Girlfriend's Mom Sent Lewd Video Mandarin High School Head Football Coach Removed From Position Jason Robinson JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Former Mandarin High School head football coach Jason Robinson's girlfriend's mother e-mailed explicit cell phone video to the school's principal, school board spokeswoman Jill Johnson said. Dr. Donna Richardson, the school's principal, then sent Robinson the following letter informing him that he's been removed from his position: "Effective today you have been reassigned to Bulls Bay for the remainder of this school year. You are not to come back onto our campus, and we will make arrangements to get any of your personal belongings to you. You are also being non-reappointed for the next school year. It is regretful it had to come to this, but I believe you understand the situation." "We hold our teachers to a higher standard. They are in front of our students. They're talking with our students. They're teaching our students how to become good characters," Johnson said. "So we do look at that, but we're really focused on any policy violations that might have occurred." Johnson said Robinson was in the second of a three-year contract. She said his contract will not be renewed, and the school board doesn't have to give a reason for not renewing his contract. In a phone interview with Channel 4, Robinson said he's seeking legal action against his 20-year-old girlfriend's parents for violating his privacy they retrieved off of a phone. Robinson, who said he's involved in a long-distance relationship with his girlfriend at the University of Central Florida, said the incident is ruining his reputation and damaging his future. "From a legal standpoint, I would certainly give him the advantage in this case. From a moral standpoint, you have to make your own judgment on that," local 1010XL sports radio host David Lamm said. Amazing story brewing in Jax, Fl. i bet by the weekend it gets national attention. The community is backing the HS FB coach and calling the school board to resign over this knee jerk reaction. IMO, it was a personal cell-2-cell video between two adults who were dating. Granted the coach is a little older and his girlfriend is 20, but man he didnt use any school equipment/computers to send those images to his girlfriend. I bet momma was upset about her daughter dating someone older and did a "sneak peak" of what was on her daughter's cell phone. I think this coach has a serious case for a lawsuit. Shame on her parents for doing this the hard way. my .02

So - wait?
He just had sex with his girlfriend (not a former student or anything) at some location (not on school property or anything) and got fired for it?

i read the article and clicked the link, where does it say how old the coach is? (it doesn't really matter legally because the girl is 20 but in the pic, he looks like a fairly young guy)
I would back the football coach too (at least based on what I know to this point).. this had nothing to do with the school, it wasn't even put out on a social networking site....

I think it's a slam dunk for the coach, but what is the deal with people videotaping sexual encounters? Granted, having me in one of those videos wouldn't exactly be a pretty sight, but are people stupid? "You can trust me babe, no one will ever see it."

It all depends on what the contract language is. If they reserve the right in the first 3 years to terminate him for any reason, no reason, or just because of "conduct unbecoming" (for lack of a better word), then he won't really have a case against the school. Does that mean the school firing him was a good thing? Not necessarily.
Now, he may have a claim against the mother for tortious interference with a business contract and/or defamation.
But, like others have said, you can't operate under the assumption that something like this is going to remain a secret.
My guess is this guy is pretty young. I'm assuming the reason he's so early in his contract is that he's a pretty recent hire, so maybe a recent grad (the past few years). So, this guy might only be 23 or 24.
I was an education major. I know it was pretty darn difficult when I was fresh out of college and teaching at a high school. It wasn't difficult in that I was attracted to the students or anything like that, but difficult to get respect and difficult for people to take you seriously. I mean, I was 22 and some of my students were 19.
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

The coach is 30 yrs old and she is 20...she's a junior in college. I believe the mother picked up the wrong phone and noticed the pictures on there. Maybe she didnt like her daughter dating this guy, but damn did she overstep her boundries. However sending it to school where he coached at was BS, it should of been handled a different way.

Wouldn't it be harassment? Sending private photos without permission to a 3rd party?
Maybe invasion of privacy and/or trespassing? Theft?

I wonder if the school board has a personal conduct policy in force?

the mother should be ashamed of herself. her daughter is 20, no need to get into her affairs like that. If anything, keep it in house. This guy worked his tail off to get an education, and is doing a job he probably loves, and you have to come in and put his career in jeopardy, when it was none of your business. I hope one day she gets hers right back.
