I was driving home for DC today when my Mom called to tell me that my Uncle is in the hospital and has to undergo unexpected back surgery. He fell off a ladder on Sunday (and I was just told about it today!!!!!!) and broke his back at L1. They are saying he should have a full recovery, but it IS back surgery, right?
Please keep him in your thoughts/prayers for a full and speedy recovery. Thank you in advance!

As someone looking forward (?) to expected back surgery, i can certainly sympathize.

Well, surgery seems to have gone well. My Mom says that my uncle is home from the hospital already. I guess what happened was when he fell, he crushed one of the disks in his back like a soda can. So, they went in, essentally jacked up his spine and filled the disk with something to shore it up,
Still a long road ahead for recovery, but it sounds like things are going in the right direction.
