The Republicans seem to be the closest but here are the things that I can't side with.

1. Abortion- If it does not affect me I really don't care In other words if my neighbor has one I'm not going to have a fit (it's none of my business!)

2.The idea of religion is an opening to act blindly and fanatically, and should have nothing to do with politics.

3.Legalization of marijuana is a plus for this country and would lighten the prison load and reduce the national debt.

Now to the Democrats and what I can not side with them on.

1. And this is huge, I pay taxes and the ones that don't get bigger tax returns than I.

2.The Dems seem to want to give the lazy citizens a way to live of off the working citizens.

3.Universal health care is another rob from the rich and give to the poor Robin hood mentality. If this is a right as a citizen of this country then so should be food and water. And if I could get all these things for free I would be better of quiting my job and living off the government.

Bottom line is everyone in this country can work to improve they're lives but sometimes it take huge sacrifices. You can change jobs, you can move to a better environment to get that job. You can pull your own weight if you really try.

So what am I a Democrat or a Republican? Or maybe I'm just a hard working American who refuses to have my fellow Americans take care of me!

LOL, Ron Paul is a loon, but that's why I said libertarian and not Libertarian. Neal Boortz, the FairTax guy is a libertarian, and IIRC so is Jules (though I'm not sure if that one will help any with your thinking that they're a little loopy)

It is not ideologically inconsistent to believe in individual freedom and smaller government, that is part of the libertarian appeal.

Where it breaks down is in the "free-market" capitalism philosophy that extends to business. It may have worked before 1850, but the rise of corporations changed the enviornment, and we need a government to balance the power of the corporation to maintain individual freedom.

A true libertarian would suggest ending most governmental agencies, and sticking to the fundementals of trade, regulation of commerce, and defense. Other national programs HUD, health and Human Services, would be left to the states. Social Secuirty and Medicare would go away. Our foreign policy would be one of isolation.

Green Party for me....Don't care for the other two (2) myself personally....

I really hate these labels -- I think they hinder things.

But I would call you a liberal libertarian.

Please don't join a party.
