Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been accused of sexual assault by a woman in Georgia, entertainment website TMZ reported Friday. Formal charges have yet to be filed.

The alleged incident reportedly occurred early Friday morning in a bathroom in Capital City, a club in Milledgeville, Georgia.

The alleged victim, who has already been interviewed by police, was treated at a local hospital and released, law enforcement sources told TMZ.

Roethlisberger's representatives have denied the allegations in TMZ's report, according to profootbaltalk.com.

The representatives did not comment as to whether Roethlisberger was accused of sexual assault, but stated that the allegations were untrue and the events in question did not happen.

According to The Baldwin Bulletin, a paper in Milledgeville, detectives with the Milledgeville Police Department will not interview Roethlisberger until Monday at the very earliest, according to an MPD spokesperson. That information goes against earlier reports that Roethlisberger had already been interviewed.

According to sportsbybrooks.com, Steelers offensive lineman Willie Colon was with Roethlisberger at the club.

A rep from the Steelers told FOXSports.com's Alex Marvez, "We are gathering information on the report and we will have no other comment at this time."

Roethlisberger owns a home on nearby Lake Oconee, which is located roughly 30 minutes north of downtown Milledgeville.

Roethlisberger is already being sued by a Reno, Nev. woman, Andrea McNulty, who claims the quarterback sexually assaulted her in 2008. Roethlisberger has denied those accusations and a criminal complaint was never filed. No physical evidence was ever collected, either.

Look not that im defending a stooler or anything but an accusation about a sexual assault is a serious thing on both sides of the spectrum let this play out before anyone makes a judgement.. you never know he may have done it.. it could be another gold digger trying to get rich

When someone gets accused of similar actions multiple times, there's usually something to it. And his reputation precedes him.

Sure, we don't know all the facts, but biases aside, the guy is looking pretty bad about now.

Even if he gets off, from here on he's going to be a big target. I wonder if some tigresses from the past are going to come out of the woodwork.

I know a huge Steelers fan from Pittsburgh who absolutely despises Ben. He thinks he's a scumbag, and believe it or not, wants the Steelers to cut him.

My step-sister, who is from PA and a Steeler fan, also despises him because of the stories she's heard, and her friends' run in with him.

My ex-brother-in-law's neighbor, who is from Cleveland and a Browns fan, and used to be Brady Quinn's friends sons barber, said that his daughers former schoolteacher, who used to work for her dads friends cousins insurance agent, who, by the way, used to date his uncles attorney, said that someone told him that Brady Quinns childhood sweetheart, who's mother's attorney, who used to date Presidnet Obama ( ) said that he once raped a girl in high school, who used to be Brittney Spears' sister before her mom gave her up for adoption.

The steelers organization is starting too have a problem. The Rooney's have always struck me as class act people. Read Dungy's book about his time with them- they run a class act organization (but hey, its the steelers so they still suck). Anyways, what are the Rooney's going to do about this problem. Is this the type of individual that they want as the face of their franchise. I think it goes against everything that they stand for, and it will be curious to see if they have the backbone to do anything about it.

I heard he will unviel a new Jersey next season.

As we've mentioned a time or two this week, the tide of public opinion in Pittsburgh has turned dramatically against Ben Roethlisberger in the wake of a second allegation of sexual assault.

Local talk radio has featured plenty of anecdotal evidence regarding generally boorish behavior from Big Ben (we've heard a couple of stories that we possibly will be posting, once they are vetted by the PFT legal team -- i.e., me), and his defenders are becoming fewer and farther between.

Perhaps most jarring is the maiden blog voyage of long-time, old-school Pittsburgh sportscaster John Steigerwald, who spent more than two decades on KDKA-TV, who has hosted radio in the Pittsburgh area, and who currently appears on a weekly Sunday night show on WTAE-TV.

Here's what Steigerwald says about Roethlisberger: "First of all, none of this surprises me. Ben is a bad citizen. He doesn't know how to treat people and he definitely doesn't know how to handle being the quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers. In my more than 30 years of working in the Pittsburgh sports media, I have never had any player come close to generating as many unsolicited questions from fans as Roethlisberger has. They want to know why he's such a jackass. And these aren't just Steelers fans who got turned down for an autograph. It's men and women from all walks of life."

Steigerwald specifically points to a Make-A-Wish child that Roethlisberger allegedly blew off. Per Steigerwald, KDKA opted not to pursue the matter as a news story. Steigerwald later spoke to the parents, who did not want to go public on behalf of their daughter, who had cystic fibrosis.

Steigerwald's verdict? "Roethlisberger is a punk who needs to be knocked down a peg or two."

As a general matter, Pittsburgh-area sportscasters tread lightly when it comes to the Steelers, if they value access and cooperation from the organization. Steigerwald's atypical candor is a sign that, when it comes to Big Ben, the local journalists have either gotten a nod from the team to take off the gloves, or they just don't care.

I still can't believe Ben wouldput himselfin that position.............Oh wait, yes, yes I totally do.

Rooneys are very classy people, Cant blame the Rooney, cant really blame anybody, all teams have jerks, Steelers jerk just happens to be thier starting QB, I'm sure we have our problems, Heck our 2007 starting QB, just left town in a less than classy way. Owners cant control grown men, yes they can fine them money..LOL...threaten them with release, but we all know somebody will sign them for the same or more money, it's not rooneys fault, Organizations need to weight the cost of winning vs the cost of bad media, I'm sure if this keeps up, steelers will be getting a new QB, steelers pay ben alot of money and do expect things from him.

I'm a Browns fan, I dislike the Steelers, but I do respect Mr. Rooney him & Ralph Wilson voted against Modell & the move to Baltimore, he's a class act, & thier organization is one to look at & hope to be like, but that still dosent mean I dont wanna kick thier behinds on sunday.
