I had to look this up, and am horrible when it comes to remembering dates like this. Anyways, better get your crap together, because we only have three days left to get something sweet for our ladies. Valentines day is very near.

I got it all planned out...Just follow these steps.

1) Cut a hole in the box.
2) Put your junk in that box.
3) Have her open the box.

I take it you guys are single, or with a girl and yet still bitter.

The wife expects something for Valentine's Day (VD haha), some girls like that stuff on Valentine's Day so make her happy. It won't kill ya.

I'm single but I wouldn't like the holiday if I was married... I think it's stupid to have to have a day specified to tell your woman that you love her...

I'm single but unfortunately if I wasn't I'd prolly give in to all of this Valentine's Day garbage and get her some chocolate or something.

I don't mind V-Tines day, I can't stand and do not recognize sweetest day. She know I refuse to buy or do anything that day. It's the 2nd day of the year I have to be mushy and romantic, blah. The first being the anniversary of course She deserves it.

At our church today....the pastor had all of us stand and asked the single folks and kids to be seated. The married couples were asked to sit if they were married less than 10 yrs...then less than 20 years...then less than 30 years. Linda and I had to sit down when he asked us to if we were married less than 40 years [ we have been married now 34 years.].
When he asked all to sit if they were married less than 50 years at least 10 couples still stood. When he asked all to sit if they were married 60 years-or less ----3 couples still stood!

It turned out that they had been married 63,66 and 67 years- amazing. They all received roses and a few minor presents and a thunderous applause from over 1,100 fellow parishoners. They have the best Valentine's present ever....
they have each other.

I can dig that, pretty cool of the pastor to honor them like that. I kinda look at the day, as stopping to smell the roses type day. Life is so fast, and days go by, sometimes it's all to easy to take love for granted. Some of us need a day every now and then to put the brakes on and enjoy each other.

Just a hint, call Malleys to see if they have them ahead of time. They often sell out. Godiva's is a good substitute (more expensive, but will do in a pinch)

Awww, crap! Well, I just proposed over Christmas with a nice ring. Hopefully that will get me some leeway if she doesn't like my last-minute gift.

I think that I lucked out. I completely forgot, but there is a professional Shakesphere company in town and I was able to get tickets on Saturday to see Romeo and Juliet.

I was surprised that I could still get tickets. It appears that there are a lot of men who are still scrambling to find something.

Good luck to everyone trying to please thier significant other.

Maybe Ill make some homemade. Get some bananas, pretzels filled with peanut butter, but O Malleys gets them huge berries. Ill check it out Tuesday, and make them Wednesday. That way, I can make a batch for the kids too. I love making stuff like that, and she will eat anything with chocolate on it.

I rented a limo,, made reservations for dinner at a fine resturant and got her a diamond necklace.....

I would say that's more than enough....

, I didn't mean it that way. This was a good wholesome manly man thread, and now I'm getting all gutter minded. I had better ban myself from this thread before someone else does it for me

The day was created by the card, jewelry and candy businesses.... Sort of a Winter gift giving holiday to get the economy out of the post-Christmas blues...

It can be like Christmas... Fun if you got somebody... A bummer if you don't... Couple years back, a bunch of us started a tradition of going to a topless club on Valentine's day...

Somehow, it's just not the same...*L*

Well .... since I only just started dating the girl I'm seeing now ... she'll probably get the usual "short term" Valentine's Day gift ..... roses, a cute teddy bear, and a card. (Especially since I know she loves teddy bears)

He'll probably get away with it because he's not married "yet".
But next year? Be prepared,be very prepared.

You might want to get your story straight and learn a little history!!!

The card companies and candy companies DID NOT INVENT ST. VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Driving home from work today I was listening to the local radio station ......

They are offering a 'free divorce' on Valentines Day for the most hardup love story situation! made me chuckle anyway
