Anyone else get it or getting it?
I am probably going to set up an online league, Something for the older gamers who cant play every night and want to play some good clean baseball, no throwing junk every pitch.
Let me know if you are interested.

This is about the only game that makes me wish I got a PS3 instead of an Xbox. In years past 2k baseball has sucked.

Last year was the first year I got the Show, I used to be a 2K guy, but the Show is flat out awesome, one of the best baseball games I have ever played if not the best.

I agree on last years Show...it was awesome and I can't stand baseball games. I found myself playing the RTTS a lot (Road to the Show).
I probably won't be buying 10 though. I just bought a Harley and I have a ton of mods planned before the summer riding begins....so video games are on the backburner.*
*I'd be glad to play anyone in 09 though.

RTTS is awesome. They fixed the online issues they had last year too. I know you and tried to play a few games online and it was impossible with the lag. All thats been fixed, I played 2 games last night and it was awesome.

Oh ya, we did try playing. I forgot about that. I thought we finished one game. Have you tried creating a RTTS guy yet in 10? I wonder if they changed up the reward system. I didn't like how they would set a goal for my pitcher to "get ahead in the count" and then I'd force the guy to fly out on the first pitch (Goal canceled). Come on, I got an out...that is the goal. Or they ask for a ground ball out with a runner on then I get one to which the 2nd baseman boots through his legs......then I get dinged. Weak. Outside of minor issues like that, RTTS really juiced up baseball video gaming to me. ...and yes, I meant to use the word "juiced".

I liked RTTS a lot, but only played as a hitter/second base/infield. What is playing as a pitcher like? Harder to advance or easier?

Im surprised IGN hasnt posted one yet, they are usually pretty quick. Gamespot is terrible though, knowing them they wont have a review for another 2 weeks.

I have not tried it as a hitter yet, Id like to try that this year but the pitching was so much fun. I had a blast with it, i got my guy pretty good but I could never get traded to a winning team, I was always pitching for the bottom feeders.

The IGN review is out. They gave this installment a 8.9 and titled it "Sony Goes Yard." I bought it and it is very hard to score runs.

Ive played 3 online games, all low scoring, but I like it that way, I hated the last 2K baseball game where you would hit 5+ homeruns a game.
My 3 online games have been scored 3-2 (ARZ over SF), 2-1 (FLA over Pitt) and 3-2 (CLE over KC).
I prefer a more sim style game.

I *should* be picking it up. I had 07 and 08, skipped 09. My friend said he wants me to pick it up because he plans on it. He said the same thing with 08, so I bought it, and he never did.
Was contemplating Heavy Rain and MAG as well. Originally I had planned on buying MAG right when it came out, but used the money set aside for it for Cavs tickets.

When you do get it let us know how much of a difference it is from past versions. I know you and I have kept almost the same pace in getting the MLB the show games for the last couple of years. I suppose I could read a review off the internet, but it means a little more coming from someone I know has played the past editions. I always wonder if a game that comes out every year is worth it if you have 09.

Depends on how you play the game?
If you play online, its worth it. Or if you want to play the RTTS as a catcher. The are the biggest improvements.
They added HR Derby as well, which is actually a lot of fun, too bad you cant play that online though.

In HR derby do they pitch it right down the plate or close to it how they do in real life? HR derby is pretty cool and it was a feature that was missing from the game. Who know's maube I will trade in 09 for this one, unfortunately they'll probably give me like 5 bucks for it.

I'll talk to my friend this week and see if he picked it up. If so, I'll pick it up and let you know.

Its like the homerun derby contest at the all star break, they arent throwing curveballs and 95mph heaters.
I played again last night had no issues with lag. But my buddy who I played said his was laggy.
Ive played 4 online games now though and havent had an issue.
