In no way am I saying we gotta get this guy. Just an FYI more than anything. www.KFFL.comESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Arizona Cardinals will release S Antrel Rolle this week, according to an NFL source. The team would like Rolle to return, and both sides continue to talk about a potential return.
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

He'd be a big upgrade in out secondary, I would have no issues with signing him.

He is a solid player who has played in the 3-4 defense. But it looks like Arizona wants him back.

They want him back but have a notorious cheap owner, by letting him hit the market unless he gives them a home town discount (cough not gonna happen cough) he's good as gone as he'll go somewhere that can pay him. ESP with their QB leaving and losing any title contention hopes.

Yes, they have a cheap owner. But no owner would pay Antrell Rolle $12 million, which is what he's due.

I don't know if that's true. I think he wants a new long term deal in exchange for giving up his $12 million this year.

No idea he was due $12 million. Thats crazy, had to know when he signed that deal he would never see that yr of the contract. Top QBs barely get that in a yr, and theyre much more important than a safety. Would love to have him in a browns uniform if the price is right though.

Question is if he's not worth 12 mill...whats he worth ?, and will he sign for what he worth, ?....and for that same amount of talent, can we get another player in FA or the Draft for less money.

There is no other free agent safety of his caliber. In the draft, you have to use a pick...

This,...^^ is the whole key. Maybe spend the quid, and save the pick,..??

I say that you spend the quid and the pick. There is more than one Safety on the field at a time, and none of our current ones should be in a starting role (sans, perhaps, Pool).
If you count Pool, we have precisely ONE Safety and ONE Cornerback on this team that is worthy of starting. Sign the Safety, draft a Corner (unless Berry drops, then you STILL take him and we're stacked - and protected, in case Pool has to retire).
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Agree completely. If he can be signed, sign him, then draft another Rolle in the 2nd or 3rd round and you could be set for several years. Don't forget, Pool played some corner also, maybe not the best, but he can play there.
Hope springs eternal in the heart of a true Browns fan. GO BROWNS!!!!!

That'sa nice play on words. Unfortunately, both of them are in the box types. I'm in favor of getting either one,not both.
Indecision may,or maynot,be my problem
