There have been numerous threads on sad events, and I ran into this clip, while getting ready for the big UK-Florida basketball game tonight. Mike Sutton is a example of something good in sports, and human spirit. IMO.
"They had it before you, They had it during you, They"ll have it after you're gone." Al McGuire on Kentucky basketball tradition.
GBS is a nasty disorder... but it is one that we do see a lot of recovery with... it basically attacks the coverings of your peripheral nerves (nevers outside of the brain and spinal cord) and thankfully, unlike your brain and spinal cord, these nerves can regrow that covering with time... so a lot of these patients do make a full or close full recovery, but like Sutton you have to go through the disease process and many times go all the way down to where you have a machine helping you... but then you can see recovery up to years afterwards... looks like Mike is on the right road. Real nice story.
