Sad to hear, that's too young for anyone. That said, I followed the link, read what she is "known" for - and I still have no clue who she is.

She was a very sexy girl. I had a HUGE crush on her. She was in Sin City, Just Married, 8 Mile, Girl Interrupted, Clueless. I'm shocked.

I'm going to have to watch Clueless again....will be my 100th time too. That movie just makes me laugh at how stupid it is. RIP.

it's always a shame when someone that young dies.
I do have to wonder any time someone that young dies though ..... what caused it .... and was it drug related?

Cardiac arrest.
At that age, my guess is drugs or complications from anorexia (which she had been treated for before)

Now there's a next-most-reasonable explanation, less the autopsy results. Her pic on the MSN site (2006) isn't near anorexic though.

Hmmmm....sorry to hear.
Your 3rd decade isn't a typical time to die of a heart attack....maybe your 5th....I didn't know she was anorexic.
Sorry to hear....RIP

Possibly so.
As I said, you enter your 50's. it become a reasonable possibility, though more for men since we usually carry 20-30 lbs more than a woman most of our life.
For women, you usually don't expect heart troubles to become prevalent until nearing 70.

I realize it's not likely a health problem given the hollywood lifestyle she lived in. But I will wait for a coroner's report. A lot of people do die young, even from cancer and heart attacks/strokes. We like to think that stuff won't get us till we are older, but it is not always the case....
I almost died when I was 31 from health problems......

I read one of the articles about her death today that implied she was a pretty heavy drug user - to the point where SNL did a skit on it not too long ago.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

I didn`t even think about heart defect. I had read that she was treated for troubles with anorexia a few years ago and thats where my mind jumped first. Drugs 2nd because well its Hollywood.

I've seen it a number of times also, but it's always funny to watch.
If I remember right, her character's name in that was Ty Frazier.

I don't know much about anorexia, but I do know it will deteriorate all of your organs. It will basically destroy your body internally as it starves for nutrition. I don't know how recovery heals things. If it heals things like a heart.

very sad. I always had a crush on her a few years ago when she was doing sin city, little black book, 8 mile, and when she hosted SNL that one time. Kinda forgot about her until I heard the news today. Very sad seeing young people like her and Chris Henry die before their time.

Ding ding ding....give the woman a cookie. Ms. Murphy is this generation's Karen Carpenter. Anorexia causes many complications and a heart condition can be one of them.
It is a sad day for her family and friends, may they find peace. RIP Ms. Murphy

I just read that she had been suffering from flu-like symptoms the last few days and she was taking a bevy of prescription pills for her illness. Earlier today she apparently took a shower to try and feel better and collapsed. Her mother found her and she was basically DOA when paramedics arrived. Brittany Murphy had Flu-Like symptoms

Always thought she was a real looker. Very sad. Unfortunately, I can only suspect drugs were responsible. Hopefully the autopsy proves me wrong.

Aye, very sad. I felt the same. After High school I had a big crushon her and let everyone know. Even posted a few pics of her - especially from her Maxim photoshoot
I was really looking forward to seeing her reprise her role as Shellie in Sin City 2.

Not sure I'd want to live in that house now. Strange things going on there. Quote:
LOS ANGELES — The husband of Brittany Murphy was found dead at his Los Angeles home late Sunday, five months after the Hollywood actress died, police said.
Firefighters responding to an emergency call found British screenwriter Simon Monjack dead at the Hollywood Hills residence, police spokesman Sgt. Louie Lozano said.
The preliminary cause of the 39-year-old Monjack's death is natural causes, he told The Associated Press.
"We concluded there no signs of foul play or any criminal activity involved," said Sgt. Alex Ortiz, another police spokesman.
Ortiz said that the Los Angeles Coroner's Office was taking over the investigation because criminal activity had been ruled out, and would provide more details later on the death and circumstances surrounding it.
Firefighters rushed to the home after receiving a call from a female occupant at 9:40 p.m. Sunday, but Ortiz said he didn't know who then name of the caller.
At his wife's funeral in December, a visibly emotional Monjack talked about their relationship and called her his best friend and soul mate. The two married in 2007.
He had said that they had been planning a family and contemplating a move to New York.
Murphy, best known for her major roles in "Clueless," "Girl Interrupted," and "8 Mile" in 2002, died Dec. 20, at age 32 after collapsing in her home. The Los Angeles County coroner's office concluded Murphy's death was accidental, but likely preventable.
The coroner's report said that the medications found in her system were consistent with treatment of a cold or respiratory infection. Monjack and Murphy's mother had reported the actress was ill with flulike symptoms in the days before her death.
An autopsy found no evidence that Murphy abused drugs. Investigators found numerous prescription medications in the actress' home.
