Anyone else have this game? Just got it over the weekend and started out my first save today. I am a Dalish Elf Warrior, with plans on being a Champion.

I am really liking the game so far even though I am not very far in. Kind of a cool battle system. Far from unique, but it is better than the others that have used this system. So far the story is pretty decent too and I am not even very far in.

The game is good because it leaves you with many options. There are 3 classes and each class has 4 specializations. There are 3 races but 5 Origin stories that can be had to start the game.

I have it and can't stop playing it. If you liked Baldur's Gate or any of those games(Neverwinter Nights,Icewind Dale) you will love it.

Word of advise- save often.

Yes this game is very good. I have the PC version. and cannot wait until there are some community made additions to the game.
I just finished the mages tower. It was very very hard IMO.
might be my playstyle though.

Dragon Age Origins (DA) is a semi broken game. Unless you play on hard or nitemare are you have to do is cast Area of Effect spells and you will destroy everything.

Also the game overpowers mages. I heard someone put this as the real difficulty
3 Mages Easy
2 Mages Normal
1 Mage Hard
0 Mages Nitemare

Seriously if you're being a warrior its sad that a mage can out tank and out damage you. If you guy don't know there is a specialization of mage which lets a mage use magic score as substitute for strength. Therefore on my mage I could equip massive armor and two-handed sword. Then you combine that with Blood Magic or Spirit Healer and your mage becomes godly. Blood mage lets you either take control of the strongest enemy or lets you paralyze a group and have them take damage. Spirit healer lets you constantly heal you party as long as they are close to you. I would have enjoyed the game more if mages weren't gods and could do basically everything.

Story wise its okay I guess. I really like the fact that some of your decisions really have consequences however I was disappointed there was always a clearly right and wrong way to go about doing things. Decent game I got my money's worth but definitely disappointing if you prefer warriors or rouges.

Huh that makes sense as Morgynn is always the last member standing when I'm getting killed. I wondered about that. Seemed odd.

I really like the grittiness of the game. Most fantasy tends to be a bit lighter. I also think the game is pretty tough, though I played a two weapon warrior so that might be part of my issue

If anyone gets to fight Gaxxkang (sp) and wins, let me know how you did it. I have tried many times and can't.

It really depends on your party setup, level, and which your class is. 2 arcane warriors, Morg., and Shale/Alisiter should be able to wipe him out fairly easily especially on normal difficult level.

Also make sure you do the taunt force field combo. If you don't know have your warrior cast taunt which basically grabs all the enemies attentional and then force field makes that warrior invulnerable. The only downside is that the warrior can't move with force field. However, that's not bad when all the enemies have their focus on your warrior doing 0 damage and your three mages are absolutely destroying them.

lol I never thought of that. Good idea, I use force field but usually just for crowd control.
