*Disclaimer - I understand the economy is rough and many people are out of a job, or looking for a better one. I'm not using this thread as a post to tout myself, but simply a way to gain some valuable connections for potential openings in Cleveland. This, in NO way, is intended to simply be a thread about just me.*
OK Browns fans, so here's my story.
I'm graduating from college in a month with a degree in Journalism/Mass Communication. I currently live three hours east of Cleveland in Western New York, and I'll be sure to look for any work that I can get in and around the greater Cleveland area.
I won't bore you with a resume, but I'll say that I've been heavily involved in broadcasting (they tell me at 21 - I was hired at 19 - I'm the youngest Division-I college basketball announcer in the USA), writing (I've been elevated to a part-time employee in our local newspaper's sports dept. while going to college full-time), and I'm interested in marketing and sports administration as well.
If any of you have any connections, ideas, suggestions, I would very much appreciate a PM or response on here.
My dream for my entire life has been to live in Cleveland, and work in sports. With graduation creeping up on me, I realize that I've got to start putting that dream in motion. It may sound far-fetched or out of reach, but I'm willing to give it all I've got to try.
Thanks for your time.

Find a Pat McManamon article. At the end they have his email address. He has been very good about responding to emails in the past. He may be able to give you some direction. Terry Pluto is another. These two aren't so stuck on themselves that they dismiss everyone else.
It may take several emails as I'm sure they can't possibly read every one every day. But once you get through to them they're pretty cool about answering.

There are plenty of journalists in Cleveland covering the Browns that I am sure you have to be much better than. Keep chasing your dream. And when you get there, and you are covering the Browns, don't forget about Dawg Talk. That would be a great perspective for us in here.

Ask the Akron Beacon Journal for an unpaid internship. I worked there at the sports desk in the early 90s and they asked me to do some paid work after that. That's an in. And unfortunately I do not have any connections there anymore.
But I do have my first ABJ paycheck in the ol scrap book.
