A band called Old Crow Medicine show is playing in Kent tonight. They are there for the Folk Festival. They regularly play on Austin City Limits. Show is 8-11pm. I know it's a late notice but I just found out. I'm in Ohio visiting family and am going to go. This band is amazing.
Just an FYI

You are darn right they are good....have seen them a couple of times,,,,,they carry on the tradition well! http://www.youtube.com/v/O2vJUadjdmoThat's good music....any band with a banjo, fiddle, and stand up bass turns me on.

I'll be running lights for these events next month. http://www.vimeo.com/7291255The bluegrass tradition is holding strong here in the pac nw. Was able to work with The Yonder Mountain String Band the past two summers. Both years I helped design the staging for one of the festivals they played out here, The Northwest String Summit.

Not a big bluegrass lover, but I can listen to it live, especially if there's a good band/singer. I'm an amateur guitar player and I wish I could rip like some of the bluegrass players I hear. Around where I live, there's a certain bluegrass fan base who spend the summer camping out, & hitting bluegrass festivals every weekend in three or four different provinces - like Deadheads used to do with the Grateful Dead.
Love Alison Krauss's voice.

Awesome band. I was briefly in a band that covered their song, 'Wagon Wheel.' I see their was good music Friday and Saturday as well w/ Greg Brown and Jorma Kaukonen and especially w/ The Del McCoury Band. Another recomendation for all you bluegrass fans is The Avett Brothers. Not totally traditional, but some dang fine music.

I do like the Yonders the best, though they need to give serious consideration to finding a fiddle player....it just fills in so well and provides awesome solo opportunities.

I'm lucky enough to have Darol Anger living in town. When Yonder plays locally they typically call him in. He's been on stage with them nearly everytime I've seen them play.
