Can a ref,and a ref only, please clarify what is considered name calling? If you use a phrase to describe someones behavior is that name calling?
If you say " you are a whiner" that is calling someone a whiner, right? If you say "quit whining so much" or " quit being a whiner" is that calling a name or is it describing a behavior?
I just want that clarified so someone can rest at ease, and if it is considered to be name calling I can make sure I avoid it in the future.
I would hate to lose my place in the clique of favorite posters and the special privileges that come with it over a technicalitie.
Thanks
KING

You have it correct.
"You are a whiner" is namecalling. "quit whining so much" and "quit acting like a whiner" are not.
Browns is the Browns

Okay... Even though I wasn't the one to ask the question originally, now I have to know this...
Calling someone a "Whiner" is namecalling, therefore a bannable offense?

They will probably be too drunk to care anyways.

Apparently calling someone pompous is only a bannable offense if............well, .......if your name is arch?
Or is it calling someone, and I quote here, "a pompous horse's patoot"........that's fine I guess?
Can I get a clarification from the ref's?

The post you are questioning was name calling and it has been dealt with as well as the poster involved. The moderators are not on this board 24/7, it is wrong to assume something has been ignored just because it has not been immediately dealt with.
Purple correctly answered the question concerning name calling.
