so I'm bored and I'm just runnin around the web a little and I find this

http://www.clevescene.com/64-and-countin...yleave-websites

basically it's a list of sites dedicated to either keeping Lebron in cleveland or getting him to go to NYC...

the one that cracked me up was this one:

http://www.nycforlebron.com/

these damn fools think they can put enough together via donations on PayPal to get LBJ to come to NY to play....LOL

The more I read it, the more it sounds like whatever money they get will line thier own pockets...

The funny thing is, being that I'm not outside of NE Ohio, people actually believe that he'll be a Knickerbocker next year. The most common argument?

Why would he stay in Cleveland when he can go to the Big Apple? And he can make soooo much more money there.

It's a bit funny to see their face when I say, "Because he can win a championship there. And, he'll make just as much money being a Cavalier as being a Knick. His name (brand) is bigger than either city now." I have a feeling that he's definitely keeping his options open, but when all's said and done he'll be a cavalier.

Don't really know which way he'll go. I'm not good at guessing this kinda stuff. I was sure that Jim Thome and Manny Ramerez would both stay with the Tribe also,, wow, did I miss that guess or what

Moneywise, I'm told that the endorsement deals would increase in value due to exposure he would receive in NYC.. although I tend to think you may be right about his brand being bigger than either city.. At least I hope so.

He's gone. I really hope I'm wrong, but I don't see him being in Cleveland next year.

If we win the title or make the Finals, I think he stays. If they gag in the ECF or earlier, he's gone.

Money is important but It won't be the number 1 deciding factor. Cleveland can offer him a lot more guaranteed money but his Nike escalators will kick him more cash if he goes to a bigger market. It's probably a wash.

I do know one thing for sure, if he leaves, professional basketball will be over in Cleveland forever. And it might damage the sports psyche of Cleveland for all it's teams to even a new low. If we can't keep a local boy while providing a championship caliber team in a salary capped sport.....what chance does this town have for a winner in the next 10-20 years?

His Nike contract is up in 2010.

Whatever amount of money LeBron wants from Nike, he will get. Regardless of what market he plays in.

It's laughable to think that his shoe deal is a major factorin where he's playing.

I think that's laughable as well because LeBron isn't going to get more attention at all in New York... Lebron is getting attention because he is Lebron...

Gilbert cuts him in on the casino deal and part of the team. He wants to be a billionaire and that's a means to an end.

Going to NY or NJ is a career killer and sets him back 3-5 years when the Cavs are an addittion or subtraction or both away. We will win a title within the next 3 years!

Casino part...maybe...but isn't there a rule in the NBA that you can't be a player and an owner? I thought I remember hearing that before in regards to Jordan.

I'm setting a counter-site to collect money to persuade Lebron to sign his extension. I'll let everyone know when its up so you can start sending in your Paypal donations.

windy shot down the nike escalator myth. lebron signed that deal before the lottery and there is no escalator.

apparently his other ones may have, but the escalators are minimal.

the bottom line is the cavs can pay him more money, and he can't really market himself any bigger than he is right now.

the whole idea that he needs to be in a big city to market himself is laughable. peyton manning's doing alright in indy, brett favre did it for years in green bay.

and if the market size really did matter, why aren't kobe and wade smashing lbj in advertisement money? both play in the number 2 and 4 markets, respectively.

it's all a myth. it will boil down to whether or not he thinks the cavs can get over the hump.

i'd also like to point out that the owner, dan gilbert, and the cavs, in general, are skyrocketing up to the top of the league as the best owner and run team in the league.

lebron hasn't made a decision, like some tend to think, and he doesn't think about leaving after losses like a lot like to think. he will weigh his options when the season and playoffs are over.

i do agree that if he wins the championship, i think that decision is 100x easier to make, you just don't bolt town after hoisting a trophy.

and like many in the national media like to point out, lebron does like playing in northeast ohio in front of family and friends, it really seems like they try and make it like he's trapped in northeast ohio.

also, can we stop the whole "jay z owns the nets" garbage? jay z owns about 1 percent of the nets. he has absolutely no say in player-personnel decisions.

that's like saying someone would come to the cavs because they're friends with usher. i really hate that argument.

and how are they going to pay him this money? Assuming they did come up with a decent amount, are they just going to write him a check? Isn't that sort of against the rules of the NBA CBA?
