So if Weis gets fired from Note Dame, would anyone be opposed to hiring him as OC?

No thanx. BQ is on his own.

As a ND fan, we would be crazy to fire him. That isn't going to happen.

I'd bring him here as an OC in a heartbeat.

This is pretty much a non-issue cause he won't be fired. Yeah, ND has had to make comebacks several times this season but a football team that does not quit is sign of a good team. And they played tough against a really good team yesterday. ND would be crazy to fire him.

Weis is entrenced.

Plus his offense has been very good under his direct control. It's his defense that has issues.

I agree though, Irish hung tough with a very good team.

Would it be our first OC hired with prior play-calling experience in the pros since the return? Because of that element alone I think you'd have to definitely consider it...

I would in a heartbeat because frankly Mangini will not get fired (unless Cowher takes the job) and Weiss would be a huge upgrade to Daboll. Lerner also has the pockets to pay Weiss the extra money to hire him for a fat contract. Weiss is no head coach. Maybe he is and but he is no recruiter.

For those of you who think no, is it because you want to stick with Daboll or you think Weiss is not qualified.

I personelly think it is a great idea and it shows me that Mangini and Lerner is doing whatever it takes. But I honestly think that Mangini is too bullheaded and that his ego wouldnt let him hire a coach that would have a bigger name than him. Ryan is a big name but not like Weiss. Sometimes it looks like Mangini dont like Ryans enthusiasim.

Im glad I thought of this idea.
