I really thought we'd see him play against Tennessee. Is he hurt that badly, or is EM just letting him take the pre-season off? The injury is of course "undisclosed". I really hope this has nothing to do with the disagreements they had earlier. I know EM kinda forced Braylon to take a week off, and just sit practice out as punishment, is EM doing that or what.

We need Rogers desperately, and need him playing as hard as he did last year. I wasnt worried that he sat our the first 2 games, but now I'm starting to worry alittle here.

I remember Mangini saying Rogers missed each preseason game a few years ago and went on to have a good season. Probably giving the big guy some rest before a long season.

Yeah... that's how an NFL head coach would mete out punishment in TC, by forcing a player to skip a week of practise.

As for your question: maybe SR is dinged a little, or a bit more than a little.... frankly I"m glad he's not playing in pre-season, I want him healthy and fresh. It's not like he has to fine tune his conditioning and ball skills in exhibition games.

He has an injury.

I don't see why people keep asking. Mangini made it very clear that he's out with an injury.

I guess I'm kinda concerned as to how severe the injury is, being the third game is sorta a dress rehearsal. I wish EM would shed more light on the injury, if thats all it is.

as far as Mangini goes, hes not going to make anything regarding an injury 'very clear'.

Its going to take fans a couple years for fans to realize its not worth questioning what certain coaches do regarding injuries or how they play vets in the pre-season. Like the fans in San Diego know not to worry about LT not playing in pre-season and the fans in New England know not to worry about Tom Brady being on the injured list.

Some are still use to the media being spoon fed stories.

I think he made it clear enough. He has an injury. Either in his upper extremities or lower extremities.

Don't hold your breath... I think the upside to the whole thing is the playing time that Rubin has been given... he's looked pretty good and maybe we won't experience that huge drop off we did last year when Rogers wasn't on the field...

Yeah,, Mangini doesn't sound like the kinda coach that is going to shed much light on anything that happens in the building...LOL

That Rubin is getting time and doing well is great..

Did you know that when Tom Brady went out with his knee injury last year, it was the first time in like 4 years that he hadn't been on the pre-game injury report?

I'm almost 100% sure that Rogers is healthy and the Browns don't need to waste him in preseason. Romeo did the same thing last year for a while and I'm certain that it's a tactic that Mangini knows as well. This is the same thing with Bowens, old guys don't need to play preseason games.

He's fine. He's getting the star treatment.

The past couple years Tomlinson didn't take one pre-season snap for the Chargers. Mangini is doing the same thing with Rogers.

I'm anxious to see the guy with our defense because I know he can make a world of difference being there, but to rush him to play with whatever injury he has would be stupid. We don't need whatever it is nagging him during the regular season. He is vital so you have to be careful with him.

His injury is not significant. He has what is medically known as "I don't want to play in pre-season because I'm this team's best player. I know it, Mangini knows it, and you know it. What's the point of playing me in pre-season and risking me getting injured for real."

Maybe this is just like at winter banquet, where Mangini egnored Rodgers, he's hasnt talked to Rodgers for so long, he's forgotten he's still on the team....I cant believe the media hasnt tied these two reasons together yet

And I'm ok with that. I do believe in fairness, and I do believe everyone should get treated the same ... most of the time ... but not everything is black and white.

And by having him sit, look at what it's done for Rubin. We get a healthy, fresh Rogers, and a blossoming NT in Rubin. It's a win-win.

I'm more annoyed that we don't respect the coaching staff's wishes and keep trying to find out what the problem is.

Ammo, I have a feeling that if we fully followed the staff's wishes, we wouldn't be allowed to watch any of the games till the season was over.

I guess the only thing we can rule out are his middle extremities. And in Rogers case, thats alot! lol

Who cares, he'll be there come Week 1....

There was an article a week or so ago that basically said prior to last year, he didn't play in the previous two seasons' preseason games.

I'd rather have him out there in week 1 then risk him being injured

Rogers will play when it counts. Until then who cares... If he's hurt let him heal, if he's takin a break let him take a break. I actually think it has helped Rubin!
