Perhaps a couple months ago you guys remember (doubtful) that I was contemplating a move to Cleveland a few months ago from my hometown of Jackson, MI. Well, I moved, just not to Cleveland. I live in Florida now outside of Tampa Bay.
The positives going for the place... its close to my dad, there's always places hiring for restraunt help, tonnnns of beautiful women, things to do, and as a friend from my dad's church pointed out, one hell of a Browns Backers club that meets at Quaker Steak and Lube on gamedays! (actually incredibly excited about that, this is the only place I've ever been able to read and talk and keep up on the Browns, I love coming here even though I end up reading most of the time instead of participating).
I'll be going to CC here when that starts up, but I have to say in the meantime I am going nuts. I want to get out and hang with people my age and have a good time, but moving down here I don't know anyone at all. Once I get talking to people I'm good as I'm very personable, but how am I supposed to go about meeting new people? I'm too young to dip into bars (at least for another 5 months) and again, don't know anyone haha. I want to join a basketball/softball/beach volleyball league at some point, as those things interest me, I just haven't known how to go about this all. I'm open to suggestions or any help on the subject, in addition to if anyone on the board is familiar with the area at all, their imput.
Go Browns! Woof Woof!

Congrats on the move!
As for meeting new people, just talk to folks you meet in the neighborhood and once you start CC you'll meet plenty of new people.

CC will be a great place to meet people, as is work sometimes.
Most of the people I am friends with now, I just happened along the way through random, or through other acquaintances I also met along the journey.
You'll probably really start meeting folks once the season starts and you hang around a Browns Backers Club and stuff.

You'll meet a lot of new people at work. - Especially if you work at a restaurant or retail venue.

As I love playing basketball anytime I get the chance, I have found this is the best way I make new friends. I go to a park, Y, or rec and play in a few pick up games. I find the same people show up to the same place around the same time each week. As you know, when you play ball, you talk about all sorts of stuff. That's the best way I meet new people, other than work.

Tampa Bay is an awesome place to live.....you will find so much to do and you will make a lot of friends!
You should find a gym in your local area to join.......they always have lots of team sports to sign up for!
The Browns Backers of Pinellas is a great group that meet at the Quaker Steak and Lube...another great way to meet new friends!
There are also a few single groups you can join, if your into that....they arrange so many events in the area.....it can be a great way to meet people of your age...for someone new to the area!
I say take it slow....you will meet good people at your job, but you do have a lot more options then trying to meet people in the bars!
Have fun, get out there and enjoy life man!

And I'll add to that, that while they are bars, going to the outdoor bars on the beach on the weekend, is not the same as the nighttime crowd. It's a nice option we have here in Florida with the weather.

I hear that Quaker Steak and Lube has some of the BEST wings around too which I definitely approve of and never really had a Browns Backers in my area so this is an exciting first for me...
