Great job on the board.
This has to be a true labor of love and you deserve kudos. My question regards the PayPal link at the bottom of the page. I know you're too classy to come out and ask for donations, but I think a lot of posters won't mind helping to offset some of your expenses.
What are some of the expenses that you incure running the board? I assume other refs are volunteers, but you can't run a site for free. You must have some other fixed/variable expenses. Just want to know how many zeroes to add to the check

In all honesty... there (currently) are no additional recurring costs for me as this runs on equipment that I already own and is already running 24/7. The electric company DOES love me though
The startup costs came in at just a hair under $300.00 (one year domain registrations for the .net & .com 'dawgtalkers' domain names at roughly $34 each and $229 for the forum software).
Right now, the only recurring costs will be when I have to renew the domain names next August, other than that there are none unless it grows beyond my ability to host it myself, in which case I would have monthly hosting fees that could be as little as $10/month to around $150/month depending on what is needed.

I have run into problems with PayPal from using it on Ebay. I registered with a credit card that has a sizable enough credit limit, but after six months or so, they started demanding I become "Verified" which involves giving them my bank info and account #. That is something I'm just not gonna do. Consequently, I can't use PayPal, even though the credit card they have on record for my account has sufficient funds. So, I guess what I'm asking is if there is a post office box that checks could be mailed to if a member wants to help support the board?

You don't need to be verified. The only problem that I have run into is that some EBay sellers require you to be verified but most don't. I've been using Paypal for 2 years now without being "Verified"

Same here. I'm unverified, and I still use the bank account that they want me to verify with to pay for my auctions and take payments for things that I sell as well.

Are you sure it's actually PayPal that is asking for this info. I don't have a paypal account, yet I constantly get requests to verify info.. I bought 1 item on Ebay a year ago and used a credit card,,,,and boom, now I get these Paypal update requests....
All I'm saying is, be careful!

While it is more work, I've taken to using a prepaid credit card whenever I use eBay for anything. Most banks offer prepaid Visas now, where you simply put however much money on it and there is limited personal information attached. Frankly, its worth it to me for the security. Every time I buy something, I make sure that there is enough money on it, plus I'll keep an extra little bit on there (typically like $50). That way, if a identity thief wants to steal the account and the money, they get $50 instead of whatever is in my bank accounts. Just an idea for you regular eBay-ers. I was at an identity theft seminar where the presenter gave the idea and it made a lot of sense to me.

Alot of credit card companies have "Temporary Card Numbers" as well.
I log onto my CCs site, log in, and then there's a button to assign a Temporary number.
I tell it how much I want it to be for, and how long to have it active (like 2 weeks - 1 year) and then it gives me a CC # I can use, that has limits, and will be deactivated once the $$ is reached or the time limit expires.
Gives me a peice of mind when ordering online.
