Not suggesting that we sign him and hope he rises to the cream of the crop in our WR corp. Just wondering what everyone is speculating where he may end up.

I've always liked Marvin Harrison and thought he was a class act. (Which contradicts my thought that he could potentially become a Raider, so my next thought is that he could be a Redskin.)

My guess is that he ends up with the Raiders as a tutor to Heyward-Bey, but that would make sense and when is the last time Al Davis has done something to make sense?

Agent: Harrison healthy, not planning to retire

Former Colts WR Marvin Harrison, now a free agent, said he has no plans to retire and that he wants to play in 2009, according to his agent, Tom Condon.

The problematic knee that has limited some of Harrison’s speed and overall effectiveness the past two seasons hasn’t been an issue either, Condon said.

“I played in 15 games last year and a playoff game, and I intend to play again this season,” Condon said Harrison told him in a conversation Thursday afternoon.

Harrison, who turns 37 in August, was released by the Colts after the 2008 season, in large part for salary-cap relief. Harrison, who didn’t agree to a restructured contract, was scheduled to count more than $13 million against the Colts’ 2009 cap.

The parting ended Harrison’s 13-year run with the Colts, with whom he established himself as one of the top receivers in NFL history and built up likely Hall of Fame credentials: 1,102 receptions for 14,580 yards and 128 touchdowns.

Last season, Harrison had just 60 catches for 636 yards and five touchdowns — the lowest full single-season totals of his career. He missed 11 games in 2007 because of a knee injury, catching just 20 passes and scoring one touchdown.

There hasn’t been much interest in Harrison at this point, but Condon said he expects his client to sign with a team close to the time that training camps open later this summer.

Harrison would have been better than Patten... but w/ Patten in... Robiskie and MoMass have a better chance of getting more playing time..

IMO Harrison would Definitely be a positive influence on Edwards and our other WRs....Sure we have some vets with experience , but none of them have the stature or have achieved what Harrison has in the NFL....Harrison would be a Big asset on the field and in the Locker Room....However , the price $$ will probably be too high.....

Harrison would also have commanded a lot more money than Patten.

Heard an opinion on NFL Network and got to agree. Harrison signs with the Eagles later on - seems like a good fit. Close to Harrison's home - another weapon for McNabb and a good mentor for Maclin.

For the money he'll want, I don't see it. They already have Maclin and Desean Jackson.

i don't know much about maclin but isn't he a similar receiver to jackson? if that's the case, and since you can't expect too much contribution from rookie receivers anyways, harrison could be a good stopgap there. best case scenario, halfway into the season, maclin takes over.

Just how much $$$ does he want, I havent seen or heard anything about his demands. I'm sure it's on the high side for his age, but just wondering, I'm sure his asking price is somewhat steep or he might have been signed bye now.

Harrison might just take a lower contract if the situation is a good fit for him, aging Veteran looking for that one last hurrah productive season, see the playoffs & a chance to go to the Super Bowl, he might lower his demands.

the only thing I have read is that he refused to take a paycut to remain a Colt.

no idea if being a free agent this long has changed his stance.

let's be honest here. If Marvin Harrison was going to sign somewhere for cheap, why would it be Cleveland? Wouldn't he sign with Dallas? Or the Jets? Or Seattle? Or Tampa? All of those teams have a decent shot at the playoffs. And have more of a need at wideout than we currently do.

More FA cap loads huh? If "we gotta get this guy" too, then is there a snowball's chance that we can somehow trade ANYBODY for Stallworth-less than we paid for him? I will throw in a new no-prize if we can.

Yeah it's just a bad fit all around. We are very crowded at WR right now and I doubt Mangini would want to bring on a guy that will be 37 when the season starts anyway.

What he wants and what he gets might be two different things.

I cannot believe nobody has talked to him all this time. So we can only Assume his asking price is too much.

I would guess he will eventually sign with somebody - like the Eagles cause they are ready to win. For a Show Me contract - I thought 3 mil one year would be fair.

But this is all guessing.
