I attended an arena game last week "Baltimore Mariners" (my niece was a junior cheerleader) and I thought it was "so-so". Have any of you all had the chance to see any of these indoor games? What's your take on the league or the game itself? I think the highlight for me would be to be near the goals so that I can get a souveneir football from the game itself. Too many of the balls were going into the stands to be a "real game"......

Tried watching it on TV a few times, can't get into it. As for the players, good for them if they can make a few bucks playing football. I'm sure it's fun to play, but for me it's a bore to watch.

Yeah, I felt the same way. We (the family) were originally told that this was a competition for junior cheerleaders, but it ended up being the game itself. We left at halftime and if it wasn't for the little girls doing there show, I wouldn't have gone at all, but at least I got to experience something new for a change. I think that if the 1st Mariner Arena was larger, it would've been better, but on the same note, I just couldn't get into it....

This obviously won't do you much good Mike but I've been to a few Canton Legends games and although I'm not big on arena ball either, it was a pretty good show. At it's grass roots level the games were good, the players were
tough and seemed dedicated and they seemed to honor the city of Canton Ohios history in the game.

All in all it was cheap and entertaining.

I find arena football to be a poor mans pro wrestling event, though pro wrestling is much much bigger. Same concept in my eyes, except for the male soap opera part, but the athletic entertainment value is there to a degree but that's it for me, I like others have, tried to watch arena football, but the closeness to pro wrestling has made me change the channel quickly, then add that the leagues biggest claim is who own teams in the league (Bon Jovi, Elway) then the actual players. Not my thing, but to each their own.

I suppose that's what I did like about the level of league that this Canton team plays in. These guys are basically off the street former area high schoolers and they go out and give it all they have! They have (had?) a QB who drove in every game from Buffalo for 500 bucks or so and I heard he made an extra few if they won.

This wasn't real gimmicky like wrestling and I don't watch the AFL (does CLE still have a team?) But it was pretty cool watching guys doing something for the love of the game. (they sure aint making any money)

Overall though, if it aint outside, on grass, I'm not really into it!

The AFL cancelled the 2009 season. I'm not sure if they're gonna play anymore, but as of right now Cleveland still has their team...

I never could get interested in watching Arena Football, even though Phoenix had a good team. From the start I thought the only chance the game had was if all the players were midgets.

I use to go to the games back at home (Erie Riverrats of the AIFA which is the same league Baltimore Mariners are in). I could watch the games live but not on tv. Since moving down here with no arena team, I have not thought much about it.

I went to a couple Gladiators games. They were a blast. Got a #19 Kosar Gladiators jersey too.
