hmmmm-- i hadn't thought of it that way. it is a way to end this controversy.
If we couldn't argue about QBs what would we talk about?
We're trying to throw the ball downfield and he checked the ball down to Trent Richardson and the Indians on the choice.

the sooner you get it through your head that i don't dislike any browns player, the better off you'll be. it's pathetic that, should anyone have an opinion other than quinn is the second coming, we are interpretted as hating him. oh i'm sorry, i should say "Him."
Oh really...zzzzzzzz...spare me the trivial woo is me if I speak against Quinn dong..I don't have the same opinion of Quinn..as you or others..and I sure ain't worried about speaking my mind..but I 've heard enough of your stuff to know where you stand..U claim you're worried about the escalators..I'm not..if I don't like the dude , I just don't like him..and I say so..just like DA..He'll never be a quality starter..I said it two years ago..not changing my tune..why? Because he's the same as he was in college..big arm..can't control it.

i hope we don't draft a QB late, just to draft a QB. I think it should depend on what we still have on the roster. IF Quinn and DA are still here, i would be content to sign the FA arms for camp. I don't think there will be a big drop off from a 6th round QB to a FA arm. And if Sanchez is drafted, and Quinn is traded, we still need arms for camp- would be smart to add a FA veteran in this situation.

Hmmm..just been nosing around and something should happen on draft day for the Browns..I still feel Edwards will be dealt but not for the 2nd/5th I heard about today.. As far as Quinn goes..just keep focused on the Browns pick when it comes up..if no movement comes from there to pick 15-20 ...I think it's safe to say he remains a Brown. Let me preface that before one the potholes drops in and says:''Oh see? U want BQ traded!"

What do you feel Edwards will be traded for, if you don't mind me asking.
I'm just curious ...

Me personally I figure at least a 1st and either a player (D. Hixon or M. Manningham) or a 3rd round pick. If we get lucky we may get all three but I doubt it. Honestly, though I would be happy with a 1st and player.
Go Browns!!

No I don't mind..I;m not the one with the info Lets say it does happen..It appears to be a 1st/4th.. Now if nothing happens then either the lead was wrong or something happened to change things..but it's what I'm seeing..which is a upgrade from the 2nd/5th we saw yesterday.

i think the 2nd & 5th + lower-tier wideout thing was just a rampant rumor. All the sports reporters have been saying that the Roy Williams trade set the bar at a 1st and a 3rd. They've been saying that for Boldin, Johnson, and Edwards. If the Giants can get any of those guys for a 1 and a 3 it's kind of a steal for them since they're picking so late in the round.

i'm not getting into a DA thing with you. simply put, i'd root for quinn if he's the guy on the field and i want him to succeed if he's the starter, which is more than you can say for DA. i don't know how much i've been saying this but as much as i don't think quinn is going to be successful, if he's "the guy," i'm still happy because that means we finally have the qb position set for a long time. again, a lot more than you can say for DA. that said, if you're not thinking that 11 million a year is a lot for someone who could turn out to be less than stellar, then you're missing the big picture. Truth comes out? I've never hid that..regardless of who the QB is..I' ve never altered my stance on DA ..Quinn doesn't factor into that..unlike some in here, I can evaluate a player regardless of what is surrounding him.

"If we couldn't argue about QBs what would we talk about?"
surely I was not suggesting closure on the debate. The characters might change but the story will not. lol
The closure was for me mentally that is what I would consider enough for closure in what I think M/K are going as in a direction for QB. The entire board... everyone??? Some maybe too but no where near everyone. I'm sure we'll bring in a UDFA and draft a kid Fresno State QB in the 6th and he'll become the next great QB for some...

Lets put a end to this. Trade Quinn to Denver for their their 1 pick in the first, and 2nd round. Trade BE to the Giants for thier 1, ans 2nd pick, trade down with the Bills for both of their first rounders. We pick 11th 12th 28th 29th 36th 45th 48th 50th Realistic ? hell no, but neither is most of the rest of the draft crap being thrown around right now

I don't see us trading Quinn but i do think its realistic that we will trade down from the 5 spot and that Edwards gets traded to the Giants for the 29th pick (plus a little more).

Hilarious!!! www.KFFL.comGiants | Tuck believes Edwards would be good fit Tue, 21 Apr 2009 13:21:17 -0700 Ralph Vacchiano, of the New York Daily News, reports New York Giants DE Justin Tuck said he believes Cleveland Browns WR Braylon Edwards would fit in with the Giants if he were acquired. "I think so," Tuck said. "I know Braylon is not the type of guy to be a look-at-me type of player. From what I know about him, he comes to work every day, he keeps his mouth closed. You don't hear a lot of things about him off the football field. I think that's the type of guy (we need), especially in an environment like New York City where you can get caught up in all the lights. You need to focus on what your primary job is. Do I think he's a good fit here? Quite possibly, yes."

You are correct. I don't care if Brady Quinn is the Quarterback. I don't care if Mark Sanchez is the Quarterback. I don't care if Braylon Edwards is the Wide Receiver. I don't care who plays what position. I am just tired of all the rumors. I want the draft to be over so I know who will be in a Cleveland Browns uniform, and so I will know who I will be rooting for.
The bottom line is the Browns could put Joe Thomas at QB and I will still root for them. Like I said before, I am really tired of hearing all these rumors.

Like Tom Brady type sixth round? Nah, I say we just get a grocery bagger like Kurt Warner and save ourselves a draft pick. You would probably be happier with a Rick Mirer type of pick though.

I can't wait for the draft to be over......just to eliminate threads like this, but as I think about it, threads like this will exist until the season starts......and they'll exist AFTER the season starts.
How's about this: IF,,,,,IF one of them get's traded, THEN we talk about it?

Yeah and if Braylon thinks the Celeveland media is bad wait until he starts dropping balls in New York if he is traded. He's gonna be public enemy #1.

Too bad Quinn couldn't follow suit. He still managed to complete 50% of his 5 yard passes though!

I'm no Notre Dame fan, but I follow college football pretty good. It might be that Quinn "never won a big one" because ND was perhaps never the caliber of The Top Five/Six (USC, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio State, LSU) You put Quinn on one of those teams, and I bargain he might have fared better,....that DOESN'T mean he will turn out to be the next professional Joe Montana.
Just giving their program a full sight picture. I want the kid to get a fair shot,... believing everyone rates at least that.

Peyton Manning couldn't win the big game in college...not saying that Quinn compares to Manning, just saying its a stupid and ridiculous way of judging a player. Especially when there are 21 other guys playing.
A "players record" good or bad is irrelevant, since the last time I checked, football was the ultimate TEAM game.
Players should be judged upon numbers, production, intangibles, while factoring in the people around.
The people arguing the DA thing are a total joke, Derek has played more bad games than good. After his initial few starts, after teams got film of him, he fell into pieces....in fact went back to the QB he has been his whole life. Big arm, no accuracy, brains, or leadership. Sadly thats why he was drafted so late, and sadly that is the QB he will always, always, always be.

I disagree, and here's why....Every negotiation has a "Jumping Off" point (Like the 1st round of a boxing match). I believe they were feeling Man/Kok out to see if they would bite. When we countered with wanting Smith, it set the parameters of a deal. The feeling out process is over, and Now the real bout is on! I feel that nothing less than their 1st round pick+ get it done!!!! JMHO Go Brownies!!!
