I got this in my e-mail and wanted to pass the savings along to my Brownie family on here. If you follow THIS LINK , you can buy 2 dozen long stemmed roses w/vase and candy for $37.49! You have to pre-order by tomorrow though and they will deliver em on V-Tines day or before (I am sending her roses the day before so she can be at work and get them). They are offering 25% off everything so you don't have to get roses, but you need my e-mail link to get the discount. This is almost $50 off and beats even the deals ESPN Radio is running on their shows Just trying to help ya all save a lil coin. I have used ProFlowers before so they always send me good deals, and their stuff really does last a pretty long time.

I'm glad my wife doesn't care for flowers - roses, plants, any of that.
Don't get me wrong, she loves to grow them.......she spends hours each spring planting flowers - she loves them if she's growing them. And, they add quite a bit to the "look" of our house. But she's told me, years ago, don't buy me flowers for valentine's day, sweetest day, anniversary, etc. I tried to appear sad at that news, but inside I was elated!!!!

I bought Dyna a dozen roses one year, and she was really pissy and threw them out. I told her then I would never buy her cut roses again. Since then she's appologized, and I've bought her rose plants. So that she (read Me) has to take care of them and water them. But we always have nice flowers in the house now. So all is well.

Thanks! This is one of the three industries that are complete scams! Floral, framing and the wedding industry. Ugh....I need to just stop myself before writing 3 paragraphs on my dislike of those three. UGH! However, I know my little wifey gets all excited for this junk....and then I end up reaping the benefits later on.

If you want a real deal on roses, just buy them two weeks after Valentines Day

Or pick them from someone's yard. Even better.
My brother and sister in-laws go to the store, walk into the card isle, pick out the cards they would give to each other, read them aloud and then put them back. Saves them $10 every year.

Mine thinks the same way, only with Diamonds. She absolutely, under no circumstance, wants a diamond engagement ring. They are expensive because they are "rare" even though almost everyone has one. Heck, we can even "grow" them now.
Can't go wrong with that

Include the fact that DaBeers has enough diamonds under lock and key that could devalue the entire diamond market down to zero. You could buy a 2-3 carat diamond from a bin at your local gas station for a $1. They've been controlling the market for generations.
With that being said, I bought one for my wife. Why? Because I wanted to get married to her. I don't think she would have said yes had I offered her an engagement cheeseburger.

Interesting. I will say, had my wife proposed to me, one single cheeseburger would not have cemented it. BUT, cheeseburgers 3 nights a week for the rest of my life? Heck yeah, throw the ring out, I'm in honey!!!!!
Alas, I proposed to her (had been planning on it anyway) when she came up on the roof of the house I owned and helped me clean the leaves out of the gutters. I thought, you know, here's a gal I can deal with. She got diamonds. And she's made me work every day since we got married.

lol, no. She works with all women This is just to make her the center of attention for a day and make her feel good. She has been going thru a rough time since her car accident and it's tax time now so she is swamped w/work.
I agree with you guys on how much a waste flowers are. I told her I hate buying them b/c after all,,they die. And I DO NOT recognize "sweetest day" at all. That is a Ohio only BS crap day and I have never gotten anyone anything on that day. But she LOVES roses and she is my wife so I bend my hatred for flowers for one day to make her happy. I asked for a case of synthetic motor oil for valentines day lol. That's romantic to me,,I need to give my car an oil change
Con, I really wish my wife was like your g/f b/c diamonds are her favorite things in the world. I got a nice bonus a few years ago and I wanted to use most of it for a downpayment on my car. She kept hinting that she wanted jewelry so I said OK. Then it was her going to the jeweler and getting a price on a bigger diamond for her wedding band,,to me dishing out $1500 for a damn diamond. But I still got my car and she was happy so all was right with the world I wish she would have asked for a bottle of Jager like Clay's wife lol

I wish she didn't I did like growing them when I stayed with my mom, but I hate buying them. She loves them though and that's all that matters I guess.

That's the thing though, you can have a wedding band without a diamond. There are a lot of great gems out there, and I already know what one I'd go with. A heck of a lot cheaper too.
