Looking ahead to next year, our strength of schedule seems to be a bit easier than it was this year. We play teams that have 2008 winning seasons only 6 out of the 16 games. The total win-loss ratio for the teams we will face next year is: 114-140-2

Our opponents 2007 records win-loss ratio was 140-116. So that is a pretty significant amount.

Baltimore Ravens 11-5
Baltimore Ravens 11-5
Cincinnati Bengals 4-11-1
Cincinnati Bengals 4-11-1
Pittsburgh Steelers 12-4
Pittsburgh Steelers 12-4
Oakland Raiders 5-11
Denver Broncos 8-8
San Diego Chargers 8-8
Kansas City Chiefs 2-14
Green Bay Packers 6-10
Chicago Bears 9-7
Minnesota Vikings 10-6
Detroit Lions 0-16
Buffalo Bills 7-9
Jacksonville Jaguars 5-11

I think our biggest problem is having to deal with Baltimore and Pittsburgh. What are your thoughts about our schedule?

I think every game is gonna be tuff and to try to predict how a team is gonna play next September in idiotic, look at Miami & Atlanta nobody could have predicted.

So lets just say whom ever is coach & players are gonna have to work thier behinds off to all off season to win.

I don't worry about strength of schedule...much changes year to year.

We as an example were supposed to be a tough game and made others teams schedules stronger than they turned out to be....at least on paper, before the season.

The only thing about the schedule that I pay attention to is when the actual dates are announced in April or there abouts...then I can plan my strength of travel schedule

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

This batch has been corrupted by a scheme that never worked, self indulgent players, and lack of coach correction/direction. It is a simpler schedule only if compared to this year's. Considering we are basement stats in so many ways, haven't scored on O, and going to see some huge changes (again — heavy sighs), I don't think we can look past anybody. I also think if a load of the crap stops in Berea, then we could be good enough to make some noise when we rely on a coach and not a gut. It is football, not total reinvention of the wheel. They have all played before. And unless the coaches cripple them as this staff has, or propped up losers (they have), then we should be more competitive. How quickly notches come? Unknown. But just tackling and covering better, and having an aggressive pressure D and a challenging vertical passing game, we can get better fairly quickly. I think we could have flat out won about 5 games with a single touchdown more. Add say 4 to the win total, and we are more respectable. But you need to get these losing notions out. Cut deep and heal.

We should have more than 4 wins next year... We should have had more than 4 this year... but our team couldn't play 4 quarters worth of football.

The other problem was that the only way that you could describe our offense would be childish and pathetic

Yeah, who could have predicted that the Steelers, Colts, and Chargers would all make the playoffs? Or that the Ravens and Titans would both have ferocious defenses? Anytime a team has defenses as tough as those all they need is decent play from the offense (which is exactly what they got).

Granted the Dolphins and Falcons are a flat out mind blowing shocker, but who's surprised to see the Giants, Eagles, Panthers, and to a lesser degree Vikings in the playoffs?

In all, nine of the twelve playoff teams all seemed very likely to be here. That's 75% of the field.

Yes, some things will change but it's an easier schedule. We need to go 4-2 in the division.. (3-3 at worst) everything else is what it is but we need to start winning division games.

We need to start dominating division games... They will always be interesting regardless.. but dang... When we lose to the Bengals... It's sad.

I think our biggest problem is finding a new HC and GM.....

Just pulling your leg. Schedules can be deceiving because they never take into account who will fall and who will rise. Teams that had us on there schedule this year looked at a 10-6 team from the year before and maybe said,, wow, we better watch out for the browns...

In the end,, we weren't much of a problem for anyone....

How so? They've only beaten two teams with winning records all year -- NE in Week 3 w/Cassel taking over for Brady, and the Jets yesterday. How is that mind-blowing?

They're essentially the 2007 Browns. Let's see what happens next year when they have to play other 11-5 teams.

Schedule doesn't matter a wit if you don't have a team that can play football.

I believe SOS doesnt mean squat. It just depends on when you play a team. At the begining of the year the Cowboys were expected to dominate so they came into the year with a swagger. When we played the Eagles their offense was puting up tons of points.

Next year's home and away schedule has already been announced:

2009 NFL Schedule

NFL announces teams' 2009 opponents

The opponents for all 2009 regular-season games have been determined and a complete list of each team's home and away matchups was issued today by the NFL.

The scheduling formula implemented in 2002 with realignment guarantees that all teams play each other on a regular, rotating basis.

Under the formula, every team within a division plays 16 games as follows:

· Home and away against its three division opponents (6 games).

· The four teams from another division within its conference on a rotating three-year cycle (4 games).

· The four teams from a division in the other conference on a rotating four-year cycle (4 games).

· Two intraconference games based on the prior year's standings (2 games). These games match a first-place team against the first-place teams in the two same-conference divisions the team is not scheduled to play that season. The second-place, third-place, and fourth-place teams in a conference are matched in the same way each year.

The official 2009 schedule, with playing dates and times, will be announced in the spring.

I'm liking our schedule next year!

Buffalo and Jax along with NFC N and AFC W, probably two of the three worst divisions (NFC W) in football!

Look for our division to get at least one, if not both of the wild cards next year.

Most of the 'bad' teams from this year will be bad again next year or at least marginally better.

I don't believe we have nearly the holes that KC and Detroit have and Oakland and Buffalo will probably stay bad as well.
