I broke mine on Friday and was wondering what the expected rehab time would be. I've heard a lot of different numbers, just wanted to see if anyone here has experienced the same break. Here's a picture of my x-ray... Make all the jokes you want.
I want the Cleveland Browns to be my pallbearers so they can let me down for the last time.

Well, it could lead to some pretty good puns.

I was trying to be humorous about your humerus. I should have been more obvious. How's this? "Tough break"

Didn't see this one coming.
All I know is someone will take a good ribbing about this. They'll just need to get a back bone and to-marrow they'll be able to laugh at about it.

It's not an easy bone to break, it only comprises 3-4% of all fractures in the human body. I'm affraid to ask what you were doing to break the bone.
So...........what'd you do?

He was weightlifting with some questionable spotters. He told me before that he tore a muscle ... good thing he's not a doctor.

It took a third opinion until I was told it was a fractured humerus. First doc said it was a torn tricep, second said it was a torn bicep. I don't see the confusion after seeing the x-ray...

^ This. I'd also stop lifting with those people. A great help they were.
I suppose a good rule of thumb is 8-10 weeks for any bone in the human body to be fully healed. However, that's one of the bigger ones. Prepare for at least 2 1/2 - 3 months of downtime. Sucks...at least its during the winter.
You should keep working out your healthy arm so when you get the cast off, you'll look like you recently got an arm transplant.

I broke mine in 2004. Mine was a spiral fracture (broke it playing softball, first base, stretched, runner caught my glove and snapped my arm). I have a 12 inch plate in there to this day. It took about 6 weeks before I started physical therapy. WIthin a few months, I was back to working out.

Cane or not, sorry to hear that. Now if you were a Nole...well, that's another deal How the heck did you do that?? If you teaching your nephew how to skateboard...tell us a lie and say you were playing Rugby or something a little less embarrassing. Really man....sorry, and get well soon!!!

Not really a Cane or a Noles fan Peen, I go to UCF but I'll always be Buckeye at heart. I liked the name after the two hurricanes came through in 2004. I broke it lifting weights... Told my spotter to look out for me on my last rep because it didn't feel right... He sure did a good job of watching me, didn't lend a hand as my arm snapped. Didn't want to drop on it his foot, although that would have been fitting. Needless to say, I will not be working out with him again. Thank you for your well wishes, hope you had a good Christmas.

That sounds manly enough....had to have been 3-400 lbs. Just messing with you man...it doesn't take that much. Hope it heals well and quickly.
