Hey, all my friends on here, please keep me in your prayers if you would. During the season (a pretty nice one BTW), I have been having stomach pains and a bit of nausea. I thought it was maybe the start of an ulcer with the stress and nerves of moving up to the college ranks. It didn't seem like too big a deal.
Well, I was wrong. I found out last Wed. that I have stomach cancer, something called adenocarcinoma and it's in stage 2. I went to OSU yesterday and got my chemo regiment. It's gonna be a long and tough battle. The numbers don't look real promising, but I'm used to being an underdog. If you could, when you are talking to Him, if you would just mention a good thought, I can use all the prayers I can get right now.

Sorry to hear that Coach. I really hope for the best for you, and I'll remember you tonight in my prayers. Keep fighting, and keep a positive attitude. The chemo will probably make you feel awful- just a heads up. But just fight through it and don't give in. Don't let it get you down, and don't let it change your attitude.

Coach:
On a positive note - I have a friend - 37 yrs. old - was diagnosed with colon cancer about 4 months ago. His dad died from the same thing about 4 years ago.
He had surgery, and has been having chemo twice a week - Monday and Wednesdays. He works those mornings, and all day tuesday, thursday and friday. He said wednesdays are the worst as to how he feels, but he's able to work thursday morning.
Keep positive thoughts.

I don't know if you really consider me "one of your friends on here". Actually I kind of doubt that you do. But I somehow don't believe God cares about that part of the equasion.  So you as well as your family will be in my prayers Coach. And I know you are a very strong willed individual and will fight the good fight. ( My family uses the same terms as a nice way of describing my stubborness too )  But I will also pray God helps give you added strength to help make that battle somewhat easier for you. I'm very sad and sorry to hear the news.

Actually, I do, PIt. You're that friend that never has a clue, but always rants anyway.  We have differing opinions and are vehement about it, but that doesn't mean a whole lot. To all, I appreciate the support and prayers. We need all of them we can get. In a light note, my son came out of his room with a necklace for me. It had a a cross, a star of David, a tiny rabbit's foot, a charm of Buddha, some kind of wierd thing I've never seen before that looked like goat hair, and a pentagram. I asked him what in the world that was for. He said at this point, I couldn't afford to tick anyone off.

Aren’t you glad that God is a healer! It doesn’t matter what is “broken” in your life today, God’s nature is to bring you complete healing. Do you need healing in your body? Your mind? Heart? Finances? Relationships? God is your healer. Notice what the Psalmist says in this verse: He binds up their wounds. In the natural, if you have a broken arm, it doesn’t just heal over night. The doctor makes a cast to hold it in place and protect it. He binds up your wound. In the spiritual realm, God does the same thing. He wraps Himself around your brokenness and protects the wounded area until it is strong enough to function properly again. The Bible also says that He is a restorer. That means that when He does a work of healing in our lives, He makes us better than we were before. If you’re going through the healing process today, know this: it may take longer than you planned, but God is binding up your wound. He is protecting you and healing you. I know EXACTLY what you are going through Coach. My father was diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach cancer 3 years ago.
I will pray for you and your family. You were diagnosed early with Stage 2 and this gives you more than a fighting chance Coach. Stay positive my man. YOU CAN BEAT THIS!
