That's classic..

The thing that is pulling the score down is the way visiting fans are treated and judging by some of the comments I see on here about acceptable ways to verbally and physically abuse visiting fans... I'd say it's probably about right

Well, 14th isn't all that bad considering we have pretty much sucked since 1999, and the atmosphere at the stadium is,,,well there isn't one quite yet IMO

Tailgating at 6th is about right, but I do admit I hardly ever go to away games so thats all I know. I love it though and it's a huge part of my game day experience.

Now the way we treat opposing fans, I have noticed we have a lot of drunk a-holes on gameday that take things way to far a lot of times. Good natured ribbing is one thing, but I am amazed sometimes at the things that go on down there against the visitors fans. Sometimes they ask for it too but,,

Yeah, sometimes the idiots take it too far. Hell, I got bumrushed by a dumb ass street thug at the game one time. I'm a freaking browns fan, so was he, but he came after me. No sass, no lip, no nothing from me, just a high five to the dumbasses friend after a touchdown.

Next thing I know, I get my ass knocked down from behind. I was ready to fight then, til I realized it was Cleveland's finest. On their way to him, they knocked me down. Took him out.

And my son, about 14 at the time, watched the whole thing. Kinda ruined the damn day for us.

People that act like jackasses at the games need to get the boot and never come back.

OK, arch, I'm not understanding your story, here. Did the guy attack you after the TD then high five his friend? Was he about to slug you then the cops arrived? Did you high five his friend and that pissed him off? I am confused here.

Inquiring minds want to know.

1 reason why these ranking are suspect.

We are ranke4 T-11th in affordability and food. The browns were recently ranked the 2nd cheapest cost to attend a game in the nfl, 2nd to only Buffalo.

And we are 11th on this list?

silly me, i thought Stadium rankings would be about the stadiums. You could have the worst team in the history of the NFL, with the nicest stadium,

yet you wouldnt be number one in, Stadium rankings

then they should rename the rankings, to "Gameday Expereince Rankings"

once again, you could have the nicest stadium in the NFL, but your fans are rude to opposing fans, i give up

you win si

Browns scored. I yelled, as everyone did. I gave his friend a high five, BUT, his friend wasn't right, so to speak. So this guy gets in my face telling me not to touch his friend. He then proceeded to shove me, drawing the attention of all the people around us, which drew the attention of the cops.

Yes, I do think the guy would've punched me, as he had shoved me a couple times and was in my face calling me out for touching his friend.

I always wondered, do they just toss guys like that out of the Stadium or do they get to spend some time in the graybar hotel?

You say his friend wasn't right.....too much brewski? Or was his friend a Steeler fan?

How about crap face drunk?

That's the biggest problem I see at CBS. I hardly go to the games because of the morons who drink until they cannot stand up, pretty much. There are also a lot of fans that go to the games just as an excuse to drink.

I would never go into that stadium in rival teams colors...heck, i'm nervous to go in in Browns colors.

The atmosphere is annoying at CBS. - Kinda fake if you ask me. You see, I was born in 1978, and I started going to Browns games in the mid -'80's. I was spoiled to not only have seen those teams play, but to have seen them play in Cleveland Municipal Stadium. - That was an atmosphere. - Don't get me wrong, Lord knows, there were plenty of drunken idiots at Muni, but, overall, the atmosphere was more professional. - It was an older crowd that knew a lot about football. - Lots of guys aged 40+ who had been through the 60's, and 70's with the Browns. Look what you have down there now. - A bunch of frat guys and sorority gals who go down there because it's the trendy thing to do. -It's fake. I've talked to a few people about it, many people feel that those who go down there now do so because it is an expensive activity where other "upscale" folks are. - Again, don't get me wrong, many of these idiots that pay these outrageous prices for tickets want to create the illusion that they can afford to be there, but many buy tickets on credit, or they sacrifice in other categories so they can buy tickets.

If they drop ticket prices, the upscale folks, and trendy folks, will stop showing up. But, then, instead of having rich drunk people, and wannabe rich drunk people, you'll have blue collar drunk people on hand. - A fair shake? Maybe. Consider also that although the alchohol will remain, a drop in ticket prices also means a resurgence in older fans who understand the game, and appreciate the history of the Browns.

Does it really matter? A freaking browns fan wanted to kick my butt because we scored and I gave his mentally slow (is that p.c. enough) friend a high five. The same guy I'd been discussing the game with the whole time. The same guy that was smiling like crazy about the t.d.

And his street thug "friend" wants to kick my ass for talking to him and high fiving him?

either you are playing stupid or...

Look, Muni is right. There are a lot of fans at Browns games who just go their because it's the thing to do. Most of those idiots could not tell you all 5 guys on the offensive line. They go down their to be drunk and act "cool" when they act like a jackass to other team's fans.

I honestly have no idea what you are talking about. People think they are cool cause they go to Browns games? Dude, people that act like hot shots buy cars, hang out at fancy restaurants and clubs, etc...

It seems as if you are confusing the Cavs with the Browns to me. Cavs games are a place to be seen, not a Browns game. I have sat in the club at CBS. Is it my exact type of crowd, not really, but I do know multiple club seat holders that were upper level season ticket holders back at Muni. You think they are their to be cool? We have had a losing product, and that is a fact. If You think the bandwagon and "cool" crowd is an issue right now, you aint seen anything yet. Wait till we are a perennial playoff team. It's all pop culture man, club seats and the suites are the big money, and were just not as much of the revenue back in the 80's or early 90's. Not sure if you have lived anywhere else or gone to any away games in your life, but Cleveland is definitely just as much or more of a mirage of all types of people than any other city. In the end, nothing really changes, people love football. If I become a millionaire and buy club seats for me and my crew, does that mean I don't care as much as I do right now?

I was born in 1977 and went down to old Muni many of times as a kid. I can kind of understand what you are saying, but I have the total opposite view really. I loved Muni b/c it was a very loud and passionate crowd. But I also remember guys peeing in the sink in those disgusting bathrooms, guys smoking weed behind me, people puking all over themselves, and tons of fights. Plus the ref's switching sides b/c guys were throwing things out of the pound. Much of the same still happens at CBS including the weed and CBS had it's famous bottlegate Your making it seem like only 40 year old's attended Browns games back then. Now I was only 9 when the drive happened and I admit I honestly don't remember much about the people around me except the things that stood out all the time. But the new stadium also has something the old place didn't, and that is the ability to generate huge revenue from luxury boxes and the club level. After all CBS and the Browns are also out to make money and one reason that Modell left was the old stadium didn't have that ability like other stadiums in the NFL (it sucks ass but it's the truth). So of course the new place is going to have more corporate snobs thinking the games are the fashionable thing to do. Hell, I got to sit in the club level at the Cincy opener a few years ago and listened to some lady show off her new fake boobs all afternoon (my seat though was awesome, and the bathrooms ruled lol!). It annoyed the hell out of me watching women sitting in the inside drinking wine totally oblivious that there was a game that day But the good thing for the Browns is now the ability to draw in different types of people. I have season tickets in the pound and pay $450 a year for my seat, which I find very affordable. On the other end you have my in-laws who sit in the lower bowl and dished out not only a PSL but pay close to $3,000 a year for their seats. I see a nice mix of old and young, black and white, but everyone always remember the morons who make scenes like the frat boys and even old people that don't know when to say when.
Lowering ticket prices won't drive anyone away but make everyone cheer b/c today luxuries like attending Browns games are tough for everyone no matter who you are. Lastly, looking at our record since 1999 and knowing we sold out every home game since we came back, in the end what you have are Browns fans. If this was back in the old stadium we wouldn't be able to watch the games on TV b/c with bad records the games wouldn't come close to selling out.

the browns leaving, muni being torn down has taken away much of the blue collar mentality when it come to the stadium expereince. this is where i can see, apparenlty, some anamousity towards other fans.

i hear the angst in many of the sentiments being voiced, its like we went from muni to CBS overnight. i see both sides, but in the end, i think some things have just changed. Roll with the punches and just be loud/respectful when you are there
