In their second major move in two days, the St. Louis Rams released starting cornerback Fakhir Brown and signed former Saints cornerback Jason Craft as a roster replacement.

On Tuesday, the Rams, under pressure because of an 0-3 start, benched starting quarterback Marc Bulger and replaced him with Trent Green. Coach Scott Linehan was expected to address the moves Wednesday at a news conference.

The 31-year-old Brown was considered the team's best coverage option and made 27 starts the past three seasons since going to the Rams from the Saints. His release comes only a week after the benching of another Rams starting cornerback, Tye Hill.

The Rams rank 30th in pass defense, giving up an average of 272.3 yards per game. As a team, the Rams are giving up 38.7 points a game. They face the AFC East-leading Buffalo Bills this weekend.

I'm sure we'll give him a once-over as a matter of doing due-diligence, but I really don't think you should really be expecting anything from the bottom CB that was just cut from the Rams.... a guy who was just replaced by a complete nobody.

I'm thinking we'll bring Minnifield out of retirement first.

Browns is the Browns

... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

So are you expecting Champ Bailey to get cut midseason? I think we need to keep all of our options open, especially at a position we are very thin at and the talent we do have is very young...

Naw I'm expecting us to sign Law
He is another nobody..trust me on corners..if dude is cut from a sorry secondary and a starter at that , he isn't going to make ours stronger.
Just depth..not quality.

Well Savage has said that they aren't in the market for any more free agents, so my guess is no.

Anyways, Fahkir Brown, other than having a funny first name, is a terrible stiff. He's a bad attitude player who's already on the brink of a year suspension from the NFL for substance abuse. Plus he really isn't that good. When that ESPN article lists him as the Rams "best cover corner" that's like saying Jim Pyne was the best run blocker on the '99 Browns. Not a big accomplishment.

LOL Purp, that's funny. I think the Browns are content to let Wright and McDonald grow. Learn from mistakes and get much needed experience.

At least both our corners were able to look good against the Bengals.
