How'd we get to 0&2? We've had a bunch of injuries...we had to play one of the best teams in the league...and we had to play another good team in WINDY and sometimes rainy conditions (not good for our pass first offense).
Is it time to panic? Of course not. There's only been 2 games played. Besides, there'll be plenty of time to panic later.
Who's to blame? Well, there's the schedule makers who gave us such a tough job to do this year. There's the TV schedulers who gave us so many prime time games thinking that we were ready fo prime time. There's the media for saying how good we were supposed to be. There's the Football Gods for injuring key guys at key positions. ...and then there's this Field Goal fetish that comes out of the closet towards the end of games.

As Held said.....it is 50 games....and how we got to 0-2 isn't really the issue...the issue is results and goofy calls
I don't like RAC at all, but don't want him canned during the season....at least this early in the season....you don't do that until it is time to send a message, and that usually isn't until week 14, so RAC has some time to get it done.
IMO, if we don't win at least 1 playoff game this year, the guy needs to go...4 years in to a 5 year plan is long enough to win a playoff game....just getting to the playoffs isn't good enough...and not getting there isn't even a option and keeping the job.
I don't think that is unrealistic and don't care if I am the only person around here who feels that way.
If Romeo wins....great.
If not....hit the road.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn. GM Strong

why should we panic, we will get the #1 draft pick again! Oh wait, we traded it?! lol j/k
We still have 5/6 important games left. Bengals, Ravens, and 1 left with the Steelers.
If we can win thoughs and find some wins here and their we have a chance.

I don't think it's time to panic regarding this season, but regarding RAC, yeah, 50 games is sufficient evidence. However, given the improvement shown last season, I'd say he gets to ride out this entire season. Quote:

Winning games "here and there" is not quite as easy as it sounds. Let's say we win the 5 games you mention plus Wash and Houston (probably the most winable non-division games). That puts us at 7 wins. Not nearly good enough. We need to beat actual decent teams like Denver, NYG, Tenn, and/or Buffalo to have a shot at playoffs.

You read my mind toad. I wrote something pretty similar to what you just said, but decided not to post it. People forget that we're in year 4 of the five year plan. we're actually on schedule.
Crennel has been the prefect coach for us up to now. To put us over the top, we might need someone else.
The team savage has built is good, but we still need the finishing touches - pass rusher, DB, OL depth and WR depth. That's really pretty much it. That's one more offseason.

Thanks for the post, Toad. I've been trying to find some perspective on where we find ourselves, and you've helped. I'm afraid we are guilty of spending too much time looking backward instead of forward. Whether we are looking back to a 10-6 season or an 0-2 start, we have to stop wasting the time and start looking to the next game. (I'm not avoiding the warts of this team, but I've got to have some positive energy leading into Sunday... ) I just hope the team gets this point....

good to see you posting, overtoad. Just wanted to address something.... Ballpeen said this: Quote:
....When you think about it, that is probably the first thing people learn by just watching the game. People like you and I may know nothing about reading a D, or designing a D or O, but by watching the game, the simple stuff like when to call a time out, when to go for it, when to kick, when to go for two....that's stuff your basic 15 year old fan can grasp with a degree of ability that is greater than this buffoon has shown over the last few years......but enough of that....
Some of RAC's game day decisions have bothered me.... last season as long as we won, I could put up with 'em, but I seriously wonder what he's thinking sometimes... ... that time management catastrophe at the end of the half last week, as well as his bad clock management vs. Dallas, plus other dumb decisions like kicking a FG in week 1, has me wondering... I'm not as vehemently opposed to him coaching the Browns as say. ... ballpeen .... ... but I'm no longer in love with the idea of Romeo as our head coach.
as to what got us to 0-2, its a combo of injuries, schedule, bad luck (Pitt. got a few game-chaning breaks last week), coaching decisions, dropped passes, and a few other things probably.
