BEREA, Ohio -- Recently we caught up with Cleveland Browns receiver Donte' Stallworth to discuss, among other things, the personalities of his last two head coaches, and whether teammate Braylon Edwards is plotting revenge for Stallworth stomping his foot.
1. Which head coach is more fun to be around: Romeo Crennel or Bill Belichick?
Donte Stallworth: They both have personalities, but they both know how to get the most out of their players. I think that's the most important thing. They've been in the game for a while, so they know how to take care of their players in certain situations. But as far as fun goes, it's about even. Yeah, it's about even.
2. Really? I would guess Crennel would be the favorite.
DS: Well, Romeo is more charismatic than Bill is. Bill is more of a laid-back personality, kind of old school. Bill doesn't really show too much emotion, good or bad. [During games] he kind of keeps it level. I haven't been here long enough to know how Romeo reacts in certain game situations, but I'm sure he handles it well.
3. I hear you've been joking with former New England Patriots teammates that the Super Bowl runs through Cleveland this year. Elaborate.
DS: It was pretty much just a joke. It wasn't anything to be taken seriously. I mean, we've got a young team here and we got a long ways to go before we even start thinking about being better than last year. That's the goal as of right now, but we got a long ways to go, so that was more just joking around. I keep in touch with a few guys over there [in New England], but I said it right after I signed.
4. You were usually the third option with all the firepower New England had last season. As a starter, what do you want to show in Cleveland this year?
DS: I just want to show a little bit of everything. Randy [Moss] was pretty much the deep threat there, and [Wes] Welker was the guy in the slot pretty much handling the third downs. I had a few routes that I was running and a couple screens here and there, but that was the role I was given last year. This year is a different situation. I will be doing a little bit of everything, working in the slot and working some deep routes as well. So I will be able to add more to what I was doing last year.
5. Is your friend and teammate Braylon Edwards plotting some sort of revenge after gashing his foot a couple weeks ago?
DS: Nah [laughs]. He's just working to get back. He will be fine. He's taking care of his foot, and he will be ready soon.
