Anyone catch the news about it, or even watched it live, where Barber seemed to not be getting along with his co-host? She took a jab at him for not winning a Superbowl, then he then used a 4-letter word that is derogatory towards women live on TV.

Was it a slip up? Maybe, but it sure seemed like he said it on purpose.

I'm not posting a link to the video because if indeed he did curse, it can be heard in the video. The stories I found all have the video on it, so I can't link those as well.

I'm curious if anyone watched this think he did that on purpose, which it certainly seems that way, and do you think he'll be fired for it? Though his co-host did take a jab at him, it was completely uncalled for on live television.

This is the only link I can find that doesn't have the actual video attached to it.

MAYBE TIKI SHOULD STICK TO BIG WORDS
Posted by Mike Florio on August 21, 2008, 5:21 p.m. EDT

We used to make fun of former Giants running back Tiki Barber for using big words. But then we got bored with it.

So then we made fun of Emmitt Smith for making up words. But we got bored with that, too.

Now, Tiki is using certain small words (four letter in nature) on live television, apparently.

The folks at Awful Announcing and Black Sports Online believe that Tiki dropped the “c” word on live television. We can’t really tell one way or the other.

If he did drop a c-bomb on the air, then he probably should be fired, probably immediately.

Meanwhile, we’ve noticed Tiki’s performance on MSNBC from Beijing a few times this week, and it sure seemed like his co-host enjoys needling him — and that he doesn’t enjoy being needled. Not a bit.

So maybe he finally snapped. If he did, it could be the last we see of him for a while.

That’s a shame.

That's what I was wondering. If he used that word on the friggin' air, he would HAVE to be in trouble. No way around it.

For what it's worth,, this is an article that can be linked to that doesn't use the word in question,, and it does explain it.. now, you have to decide if you believe the explaination.

Tiki Barber denies he called co-host a bad wordNEIL BEST

The video was nine days old by the time it became a minor blogosphere sensation yesterday, but it was difficult to ignore:

Was that really the famously buttoned-down former Giants running back Tiki Barber aiming a wildly offensive word at MSNBC colleague Jenna Wolfe?

MSNBC and Barber insisted it wasn't, no matter how it sounded.

Barber, Wolfe and Brian Williams were in Beijing debating whether it is more important for a country to finish atop the total medal count in the Olympics or atop the gold-medal count.

At one point Barber turned to Wolfe and said, "You're a total medal --."

To many ears, it sounded like an offensive word usually aimed at women.

But MSNBC said Barber meant to say "You're a total medal count," meaning Wolfe was on that side of the ongoing debate.

"I would never disrespect a colleague and friend with that kind of language," Barber said from Beijing through an MSNBC spokeswoman, who said Barber had no idea of the budding controversy until she informed him of it.

"It's disappointing someone would intentionally misrepresent the hard work Jenna and I are doing." Barber and Wolfe co-host "Olympic Wrap-up" from 5 to 7 p.m.

MSNBC said in a statement, "Tiki and Jenna were discussing total medal count versus gold medal counts and Tiki's words were unclear."

I watch the video, it's so hard to tell.

It sounds like he just mispronounced count unintentionally. He didn't just come out and call her one.

Again, a big deal over nothing. Even the co-hosts didn't flinch or anything.

We can mask all around the word but can't link to the article or news clip?

Seems goofy, but that is just my opinion.

I understand standards to uphold, but it isn't like linking to some smut site or anything like that.

Well, I've searched for the video but can't find it so I can't give my opinion. I know you're all devastated.

LOL, thanks...apparently I had seen it and missed the slip up. Anyway, he says the word, but I'm not sure he meant to. People need to find something better to do.

The video quality is really bad, so I can't really hear everything he's saying ... but it sort of sounds like:

Brian Williams: "Yeah, it'a all about total medal count"
Tiki: "Yeah, not total medal ****"

But that doesn't really make sense either. In any case, I agree with Michelle ... people have way too much time.

I think that Tiki's "Freudian Slip" was showing in this clip.

Classic case.

If I found her this irritating in a short 60 second clip, I can't imagine how excruciating it must be to occupy a seat next to her for hours a day.

My guess: he was thinking it, and it just slipped out.

Good thing they weren't talking about Charlie Batch or Marshall Faulk...

I think he said it for sure, and meant to. I heard it over a phone first. (a buddy called asked me if I heard about it, no, and played it w/o me knowing what to expect.
I picked it out right away.

I think it went.
"it's the total medal count"
Tikii "yeah, and you'r a total metal ......."

I say he gets fired. Or a bigger word that means fired. Bigger than terminated even.

Ha! That's awesome.

On the clip I saw, it's around the 28 second mark. The one guy keeps repeating "total medal count," then you hear Barber say something along the lines of "total medal -------"

Upon further review, you may be right. Bryan Williams is sort of talking over the "yeah, and you're" part ... but it sounds about right. And he even has a goofy grin afterwards like ... "whoops, did I just say that?"
