Up to 200 FBI and IRS agents served at least 10 search warrants this morning at various Cuyahoga County offices and multiple residences as part of a public corruption investigation.

Officials said the searches are part of a long-term investigation.

Businesses and residences, including Commissioner Jimmy Dimora's, were searched as well.

Cleveland Councilman Joe Cimperman's house was nearly destroyed this morning by fire.

Police and firefighters were called at 2:20 a.m. to the 3050 block of West 12th Street, where the front of the house was engulfed in flames.

No one was injured.

Fire spokesman Larry Gray said the blaze may have been set. An arson investigation is under way.

Cimperman, sweeping glass and debris from his driveway this morning, said he awoke to neighbors pounding on his door.

"It's scary. What are you going to do?" he said.

He said he will take his week-old daughter, Maeve, to a doctor today to make sure she's OK.

Cleveland police officers will guard Cimperman and his house, if the fire is determined to be arson, Chief Michael McGrath said. He visited the fire scene about 9 this morning.

Please get Jimmy Dimora out of there. The guy is a loon. Can they investigate and remove Hagan too?

It's about time they clean up the Cuyahoga County government. As a Democrat, even I think these guys have to go. The only one with any sense is Peter Lawson Jones, and he has a good chance of losing his seat this year.

They, the FBI and IRS are investigating something in County Government, so the Cimperman house burning may not be anything to do with it.

Although, you just never really know.. It's appearing that Russo and several others are being looked at real hard for some corruption charges.

Wouldn't surpise me really. A few weeks ago, there was a big expose in the PD about a bunch of folks that work for Russo and how they got thier jobs.. One was a stripper...LOL and now she has a job with the county that's hard to define and she makes something like 48k annually for doing it.

Doing what you might ask? well, there is the question I guess!
