My life long best friend stopped by today with the post title in hand as an expected belated birthday gift. He gave me an autographed copy from Coach's appearance in Pickerington today. Wow!! I'm looking forward to reading this tonight (no dog ears for this one).

This made me think of another book that I'm going to purchase several copies of for friends that are retiring from the plant that I work at. It is Jack Park's "Ohio State Football Vault". I have been thinking of how I might get each copy autographed? Mr. Park's sig would be cool, but I would prefer Coach Tressel or Eddie George. Friends have told me that I might have success if I leave the copies with Tressel's secretary at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, but others have said he does not do that anymore. I thought I might be able to catch an autograph session or book signing, but don't really know where to find some type of schedule of events (my friend had told me that Coach was only signing his book in Pickerington today).

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Just email him...

I got a football autographed by him. I emailed him (you can find his email address on the OSU website) and he said to drop it off. It took me about two months to get it back because he has a large room filled with stuff to sign

Just email Tressel for an autograph?!

I didn't grow up in a college town and have never been to a school with a football team, college included. That Tressel would reply to the email and sign the thing baffles and excites me.l

Tressel is a great guy. He actually taught a class at Ohio State when I was a student there. It is Edu Paes 620.04 (for those of you who go to Ohio State) and it is called Coaching Football.

He was very laid back and friendly to everyone. On the last day of class he told us we could bring anything we want in and he would sign it.

A year later I emailed him about a football and he said to drop it off.

I have had friends randomly email him for autographs and he complied.

Probably the best story I have about Tressel is that during the football class he took the time to learn everyone's name (60 people or so in the class). He learned our names and every Monday morning he would know the results of our school's HS football game. I am from Elyria so he would constantly ask me about any players they should look at and my thoughts on the game

Just a great person and the man I want representing OSU Football.

Thanks for the replies. Since Columbus is not far from me, I think I'll try to stop by the Athletic Center and see his secretary.....maybe an e-mail first.

Btw, I am enjoying the book. I have already recommended it to my son since he just graduated from high school and a similar book is given to Buckeye football players (similar age).
