Jaguars' Jones arrested on felony drug charge

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Fayetteville police say Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Matt Jones was arrested early Thursday on a felony drug charge after officers found him in a parked car, cutting up what was suspected to be cocaine.

A police report says officers approached the car and found Jones inside, using a credit card to chop up a white substance. Police say an officer drew his handgun after Jones did not immediately show his hands.

Police say they found a jar with possible marijuana residue inside the car and a plastic bag of what was likely cocaine. Officers say Jones admitted he had cocaine.

Police say two others inside the car, Jared Hicks and Benjamin Cook, were also arrested on misdemeanor drug charges.

That'll make it harder for the Jags to trade him.

Because this guy plays in Jacksonville, no one quite realizes how much of a mega bust he is. The guy was drafted in the first round based solely on his 40 yard dash, which isn't all that shocking, but the guy had played WR for I think 1/3 to a 1/2 season.

Jacksonville can't stand this guy so much they made him the inactive QB for a good portion of last season. He's (allegedly) one of the biggest jerks in the NFL, and amazingly lazy. Del Rio really can't stand him, and I had heard that they only held on to him last year because of financial reasons.

WHO? MATT JONES! MATT JONES!

And once again, the arrest meter is set to zero!

Can't these guys find something else to spend their money on than coke and $1000 bottles of champagne to spray on people???

Apparently Matt Jones thinks he's Vince Neil is the real reason he hasn't succeeded in the NFL.

My buddy lives is Anderson SC and is a Jacksonville fan, Ya I know one of the few, anyway he hates Jones what a waste of a pick,

What a waist of talent and God given abilities. These are the type of guys who have no appreciation of the game nor realize there are a Million other guys out there who would take a 1/4th of their paycheck and give 110% effort to be in the NFL.

What an idiot. What is this guy doing with 6 grams of powder---And why on earth would he be cutting lines in a parked car---that is just stupid. If he doesn't have sense enough to do this in the privacy of his home or a friends place, or maybe even a gas station bathroom---then he deserves to be popped.

Another athlete making a bonehead move and not using precaution while engaging in illicit activities.
