U.S. government plans for surviving the coming collapse of American society


Don’t worry, the government is taking care of us (US). They have a plan. Excerpts from these two articles, presented for your analysis - details a set of guidelines to carefully and tactfully steer the public (sheeple) through the first stage of the coming societal and economic collapse.

Some see it as evidence of totalitarian control, while others see a high degree of integrity as being a very practical approach to avoiding mass paranoia resulting in sabotage of purpose.

Read it whichever way you like, but it’s there, and it is rapidly becoming common knowledge:

Changing Images of Man - Stanford Research Institute (now SRI International) released a report in 1974 that has become a classic in the “alternative futures” literature. It has been adopted as a text in non-traditional courses at more than a dozen universities and reprinted repeatedly by SRI.

Changing Images of Man explores the reasons why changes may have to take place in the fundamental conceptual premises, laws, attitudes and ethics once suitable for guiding the development of the United States and other highly industrialized nations if a humane (and “workable”) future is to be achievable.

It discusses the evidence that such changes may be occurring and the possibility that an evolutionary transformation may be underway that is at least as profound as the transition in Europe when the Medieval Age gave way to the rise of science and the Industrial Revolution. source
Here are the “Elements of a Strategy for a Non-catastrophic Transition”:

1. Promote awareness of the unavoidability of the transformation.

2. Foster construction of a guiding vision of a workable society built around the new image of man and new social paradigm.

3. Foster a period of experimentation and tolerance for diverse alternatives.

4. Encourage a politics of righteousness and a heightened sense of public responsibilities of the private sector . . . A politics of righteousness might have been laudable in any generation; it may be indispensable for safe passage through the times just ahead.

5. Promote systematic exploration of and foster education regarding man’s inner life, his subjective experience.

6. Plan adequate social controls for the transition period while safeguarding against longer-term losses of freedom . . . Regulation and restraint of behavior will be necessary in order to hold the society together while it goes around a difficult corner.

There must be a new economics to deal with the “new scarcities.” Arguing for corporate America to adopt a humanitarian aspect, the argument is made for an alternative “new socialism,” where important sectors like energy might be nationalized for the good of the country, and greater pressure put upon corporations to mandate a sort of social awareness of employee needs, as much as shareholder profits.

“The appropriate question may be not so much how to bring about a transformation . . . but rather how to facilitate a non-catastrophic transformation.” [page 195]

“Construct a guiding version of a workable society, built around a new positive image of humankind and corresponding vision of a suitable social paradigm. As the old order shows increasing signs of falling apart, some adequate vision of what may be simultaneously building is urgently needed for mobilization of constructive effort. The guiding vision has to include some way of providing for full and valued participation in the economic and social affairs of the community and society, especially for those who are physically and mentally able to contribute but find themselves in a state of unwilling idleness and deterioration of spirit.”

Despite all the report’s shortcomings and its hypocrisy, it does make some sound observations about what is needed for our immediate survival. We should take it as a guide to what our government knows about the coming mega-crisis and a template to help us see what changes we could make if there were truly a new economy, a new social contract, a new American state.
For it is obvious to all those who take the time to look, that we are headed into period of national freefall, when American society plunges head first, into a dark abyss of uncertainty, as the old order passes away, and the New World Order rushes in to fill the void.

A Million years of evolution and man kind has still not learned that our greatest enemy is with in each of us.

History is the key to those who seek the truth and not the myths government rhetoric would have you believe.

Our Forefathers planted the seeds of what they thought would be the foundation of a prosperous society.
Planting these seeds cost many their lives, but yet their will along with others like them prevailed over what they considered the greedy rule of their British Landlords.

They were free of the life and the thoughts that bound their own Fathers. Or so it would seem.
History tells us that we come with the faults of our Fathers generation and our Forefathers were no different.
Many of our Forefathers owned slaves. Thus condoning an unbalanced society from the time of it’s conception.

That in turn brought about the Civil War. America thought we had cleansed ourselves of our Fathers sins.
Or did we?

Speeding forward to the Civil rights movement in this country. Once again we felt the need to exorcise our Forefathers sins from our society.

As long as there are safe falls in our constitution that allows business as usual to continue, then I think that it will.

Having served this country’s military I’ am of the belief that if one drop of Blood is spilt over soil, then that soil is worth fighting for. I’ am optimistic about the out come of what might happen to this society in that in the beginning the will of the people prevailed over the greed of others. This will not come without a price.

History tells us that each and every great society that came before, that their demise was from within and that starts with the basics of human nature. Power begets greed and greed begets power.

That's how I viewed it----interesting and depressing.

Sounds like a plan to implement socialism after an economic collapse. I hate saying this, but it also sounds like a cleansing of the population, where many "undesirables" will perish. It also could be said that they are planing for a period of lawlessness and chaos.

On one hand, I've never been one to fall prey to the panic of impeding doom, but on the other hand, there are quite a few signs out there that are hard to ignore. I am going to pray that the collapse doesn't happen, but I am also going to prepare in case it does. I would suggest that all of you who have the ability to comprehend the multitudes of information out there and have the means to prepare, to start taking the necessary steps to ready yourselves.

The sky is falling.

The Mayans believed that this is the transition time and that 2012 is the start of the new. The new can start smoothly, or it can be chaotic...depending upon our actions.

How is there still hope? The Bible prophecies says that these things will happen. The only way there is hope to stop it is to say that the Bible prophecies would be wrong.

i just happened to be listening to 'eminence front' by the who while reading this article

all gloom and doom talk aside, i can feel in more people overall a sense of concern than i have ever before. i suppose our nation is going thru some serious growing pains, and hopefully the good in people will steer us from the evil.
