I'm a huge Buckeye fan but sadly I have to agree. Waived by two teams in two years ain't good, especially when one of these teams is the Bengals and you're a defensive a player.

And the weakest link on the Bengals is arguably linebacker......

x2. An example of one third round pick that just did not pan out.

Maybe theres a reason why the Jets and the Bengals waived him. Maybe they just flat don't know what to do with talent. Both teams had terrible defenses. Why? Maybe it aint the players, but the coaches/head office? Schlegel played well for the Buckeyes and I don't see why (given proper instruction and motivation) that he wouldn't do well for any good defensive team. (which, at this time, includes us.) I'd give him a chance even if it was for the practice squad. jmho

Anthony knows the reason he was drafted were because of Carpenter and Hawk beside him and has said himself. He's a good ol' boy, if his career is over fans should know it is not a huge loss to him. It just means he will get to alot more time in the woods in the fall instead of the film room.
Ruining QB's since 1999.

Speaking of bust LB's from that year, Bobby C keeps it up and he might end up joining Schlegel.

He was very good at Air Force, thought he would be great but when he came to the bucks, i was really disappointed, not that he was bad, more like he was average, almost like he lost his desire.

How many years has it been for him in the NFL, 3 years?
It does take some time for a collge player to adjust to the speed of pros, and if learning a new system, coaching, or somthing he just doesnt fit in well with...maybe it takes a little longer for them to find a place in the NFL.

When Schlegel was drafter so high a few years back, a lot of draft pundits were calling the pick a severe reach, while the Buckeye homers put on the scarlet shades and applauded the pick. It looks like the pundits were right on this one.
I remember the knock on his game was his lack of speed and coverage ability. If I remember correctly, he struggled in these aspects of the game in college. I think he was an overacheiver who shined bright because of the two great players to his right and to his left.
Much respect to ya, even if you wish me the opposite...

Schlegel runs like he's wearing cement boots.
Savage has gotten this team to a talent level where we don't have to say "we gotta get this guy" every time someone else's castoffs hit the scrap heap. Just say NO to Schlegel !!!
