Well I recently joined my first Dynasty league ...its a $200 entrance and I have taken over in the second season. I have already done a number of deals but want some help on this proposal .....

I am giving Michael Turner

I am getting Travis Henry, Selvin Young, Fargas, L Jordan, Javon Walker and the 1.07 2008 pick

My current squad is :-

QB Derek Anderson, Brady Quinn, Rivers, Garcia, J Rusell
RB Reggie Bush, Turner, D Foster, J Wright, Leonard
WR Colston, Ward, Reggie Brown, Stallworth, Branch, Ginn Jr, Macdonald
TE Greg Olsen, Owen Daniels

Its a standard scoring ppr league. you can field 1QB 2/3RBs 3/4 WRs 1TE

I am looking for your reasoning behind your decision as well please!

HELP!

I'd take it. Turner isn't going to put up very good numbers because he is on the Falcons. Henry will put up better numbers than him since he is on Denver. If he gets hurt or suspended Selmon Young is Denver's next guy. Nothing special about the rest of them, but they add value and the pick is good. I'd even take the trade if it was just Young and Henry for Turner. But what do I know.

Take it NOW...

Turner's value as a #1 back is speculative at best. Plus Atlanta's O-Line is in ruins. Plus their defence is less than good so they'll be playing from behind a lot thus abandoning the run game.

I'd try to get a diff WR than Walker though... The ability is there but he's unreliable at best.

I think Fargas will be a steal for you.

Thanks for your thoughts .....

My main worry is the draft - trying to guess what Oakland do is nigh on impossible? but I really cant see them taking McF? If Denver were to go RB in the first round then I would be in deep trouble! with Henry's problems it is a distinct possibility!

I really dont know what to do

I'd pull the trigger on that. Greatly improves your WR core and Jones-Drew will put up far more points than Turner.

I'd combine the two.... Pull off the first trade first. Then see if you can replace Turner and Colston in this deal with Selvin, Henry and Walker.... If you need to, throw in Colston.

Fargas is going to put up numbers this year.

Of course, it seems that Turner is the key figure in this trade so that probably won;t work.

I'd take the second... Improves your WR and RB rather than jsut a hodge podge of players.

Seconded Fred Taylor can't run forever, and I believe Jacksonville led the NFL in rushing last year. Jones-Drew is a young guy and can run like hell behind a pretty good O-line.

The thing is, that deal isn't so much about getting Jones-Drew as it is about getting rid of your only legitimate #1 wideout.

Well... my problem with the 2nd deal is that Jones-Drew for Turner is probably a lateral move with a 3 year age advantage to Jones-Drew and either Jennings (who doesn't have Favre anymore) or Jackson (plays in a run heavy offense) is a downgrade over Colston. Both Jennings and Jackson would function as depth which you need nothing of at wideout.

What kind of player could you get with the 7th pick? I doubt McFadden will be there but is there a chance for Mendenhall or Stewart?

I did the second deal ...... I just think MJD is a big upgrade over Turner - its a ppr league! and Taylor must be nearing 50 years of age by now?

I take your point about Colston, and it hurt to let him go, but I have a good feeling about Vincent Jackson, he was a dominant force for SD in the playoffs and I am hoping he is about to break out? Jennings has great potential, it just depends on how much losing Favre affects his production.

Thanks for your advice Dawgs

It looks like the 3 you mentioned will be taken top 3 in most dynasty leagues .... I personally rank them Stewart, Mendenhall then McF but I see McF going at number 1 in most leagues?

The 7 pick could have landed me a second tier RB or a top WR prospect ...

I'm not nearly as sold on Jackson and Jennings as you are. Personally, I think both will be busts next year, especially in a PPR league.

Jackson was a dominant force in the playoffs because Antonio Gates was hurt. When you're looking at LT, Gates and Chambers taking away receptions on a team that only completed 17 passes a game last year, I just can't see him being worth starting on a consistent basis.

With Jennings, his entire value was the deep ball (which already puts you at a disadvantage in a PPR). He only put up 2 games over 5 receptions last year. Plus, now you're not talking about gunslinger deep ball throwing Brett Favre - you're talking about Aaron Rodgers. With Driver, Jones, Robinson, Lee and Grant, you may be looking at sparce stats again.

Meanwhile, Colston was a Top 10 WR in receptions, TDs and yardage... and that was after essentially doing nothing for the first 6 games of the year. Plus, he played on a team that averaged a ridiculous 27.5 completions per game. That's a huge price to pay for the RB upgrade. Don't get me wrong, I love Jones-Drew in a PPR dynasty, I'm just not sure that he's a big enough upgrade over Turner to justify the huge downgrade at WR. Just my opinion though.

Where'd you find this dynasty league though? I can never seem to find any site that runs them.
