I played against Brady Quinn when he was with Dublin Coffman. Got flagged for giving him a little "Love tap."

I don't know if I did. I played football as a freshman in the GCC, so I'm sure I went against someone. I wrestled for years but don't remember any names. Same thing when it comes to running. With the exception of Pete314. I know I ran against him.

ha...nice
i remembered a couple.
I went to High School with Keith Hannon. He's not quite famous yet, but is looking to become a sportscaster and has been on The Best Damn Sports Show Period.
My mom is an elementary school teacher, and she taught Isiah Kaczyvinski's (sp) sister. but needless to say he went to high school about 2 minutes from me. Makes me glad i didnt play football. He was so good. Granted he's about 5-6 years older than me.
I've played ball with John Frieser. Top TE in receiving yards and TDs in Colgate history. He was on the PS for Baltimore and Houston and one other team. Went to NFLE for Baltimore and wouldve had a chance last year but he hurt his knee over there and was released in training camp. It's a bummer because with the injuries to Heap the last couple years, he may have had a chance to get minutes in Baltimore. As much as i dislike Baltimore, it wouldve been cool.
"It has to start somewhere It has to start somehow What better place than here? What better time than now?"

Actually, I think some people around here will recall at least one name: Travis Driskill, former Indians relief pitcher. He and I pitched at the same time through high school.
I also pitched with Robbie Becket, who is Josh Becket's older brother. The guy was a monster at 6'5 about 220 and could throw 100+, but he was horribly wild. He'd hit as many people as he walked. He flamed out in the minors after being a 1st rounder out of high school.
***Gordon, I really didn't think you could be this stOOpid, but you exceeded my expectations. Wussy. Manziel, see Josh Gordon. Dumbass.***

i skate with a guy who played with the toronto maple leafs for a number of years, i've actually talked with one or two of the leafs fans on here about him
he's involved with a youth hockey organization, and does an adult instructional thing, where he runs drills and helps you develop your game, he lets me come out for free since i'm a goalie, the hockey isn't great, but i skate every drill with the people, and it helps keep me sharp, he actually pointed out my stickhandling, and had me run an extra drill to show people
he also does a sunday night pick-up session with coaches and college level players, it's really fast paced and a lot of fun, he wants me to come out every sunday now...
but yeah, he played for the leafs for about 5 seasons, and a bunch of seasons in the minors, but his career was cut short by a hip injury, i believe it was the same one that bo jackson had...
but on sundays during the coaches skate, he gets out there in full gear, that dude can still hack it at 50...

I played with Pepe Pearson and Steve Zahursky(sp). Robert Smith was gone by the time I got to the high school but he used to come to our JR High all the time to teach us stuff.
Our honor defend, we will fight to the end, for OHIO! GO BUCKS!

I golfed in an outing with Kelly Pavlik. That's about it...
Joe Thomas made Justin Timberlake change his name. He didn't want wusses to have the same initials...

I played golf with Tim "Ripper" Owens formerly of Judas Priest. Pretty quiet and shy guy.

I played Baseball against Nate Davis (Ball St. QB). He hit 3 homeruns against us, but we still won. The second game though he struck out 4 times and we mercied them.
Dom Capers is from my home town and graduated from the same school as I did.
I was pretty close with Rob Fehrman when he was in high school and I was in 5th grade (he lived up the street from me). If you don't remember him... He played Linebacker at Bowling Green. Tried to make it with the Steelers and Packers, but never worked out. He let me in on some dark NFL locker room secrets. LOL.
Also, Kevin Martin (Sac. Kings guard) is from Z-Ville, about 25 minutes from here. I watched him play at the Gus Macker in Cambridge. Never gotten the chance to play with or against him though. It's rumored that during the off-season he plays at the OUZ gym.

For me, one of the biggest names I went against is Corliss Williamson. He played at Arksansas and then several NBA teams...he was slightly better than a journeyman in the NBA. He was huge in college nationally. I played pickup ball with him while he was in High School and when he came home from college.
I never ran against him personally because he was AAA and we were a small A school but I ran in several Meets with Robert Smith and Chris Nelloms. Chris Nelloms out of Dayton Dunbar was Olympic speed in the 200m in High School. He still holds the state records in the 110m high hurdles, 200m, and 400m. He and Robert Smith had a HUGE rivalry for the 200m, 400m and the big race the 100m in the State Championships.
I was a teammate of Fred Kieser, who has won the Revco Marathon and has run several Olimpic Trials in the marathon. I also ran in several Invitationals with Bob Kennedy who ran mid-distance races in the Olympics. I have also run with the Ted and Chris Rupe, who are brothers and are widely known in the distance running community in Ohio and are known nationally as well.
And just to toot my own horn a little....LOL....This is my own claim to fame. I was the first male athlete in Lake County, Ohio to compete in the State Championships for Cross Country in each of the 4 years I was eligible. And Fred Kieser and I were a part of a 4x800 State Championship.
I thought I was wrong once....but I was mistaken...
What's the use of wearing your lucky rocketship underpants if nobody wants to see them????

Doesn't really count but I put Mike Vrabel in a locker in high school. Played football early but played golf late. Ryan Armour was out here and we played on the team together although we did not like each other as kids.
Getting older cures all ills though.

I played against Larry Harris in high school, asst coach for NC State. I also got to do work with NFL films down in Miami. I got to work the sidelines for the playoff games for 2 yrs and got to do the SB in Tampa when Wash lost to Oakland, and Marcus Allen set the rushing record. Got to do the Browns Game that year vs Miami. I also got to do a game from Joe Robbies private box, man was he a drunk. His sect. had to walk around with him, just to keep him from falling. We also did a U game against E Carolina following Schnellenberger around. Met alot of Dolphin players, Woodley would stand under the stands, stare out to the field, in a trance for about 2 hrs before the game. Met Shula. Met Alzado, I believe he was playing for Sea. at the time, can't remember for sure. Dude was crazy, but he did a Profanity laced video for the NFL films dinner at the SB. It was honering Ed Sable, incredibily funny. Got to meet Steve and Ed Sable at the dinner. NFL films paid for our rooms for 3 days, got our wives 50 yrd line seats and fed us at the SB. A football fans dream.

I skated at Joe Louis Arena with Chris Chelios and Brendan Shanahan in a youth hockey event my son was in. They were surrounded by kids the whole time so I didn't get to talk to them.
Skating on the winged wheel at center ice with all those banners overhead sent shivers down my spine.

Hmmm. lemme see... 1) Archie Griffin's little brother, Keith, and I were teammates for a year. 2) That same year I got ran over by RB Greg Bell on a sweep (he went to South HS here in Cols. then later played for the Bills). 3) Played in an industrial basketball league back in the late 80's early 90's & had to guard former Buckeye Ron Stokes a few times. His quickness should've been illegal!! 4) Regularly played against and had as a teammate former Reds outfielder Eddie Milner... (family reunion softball games. He's my cousin and quite the knucklehead!)
