So has anyone visited their local dentist lately and went for the laughing gas treatment.

I did it over the weekend.....it seemed to calm my nerves, I think that I would do it again.....it seemed to put me in a very relaxed state of mind!

Just curious.....I hate going to the dentist and this was actually a positive experience......with the work I needed to have done!

The next time I need dental work.....I may not hold off so long, just because it was a better experience!

Dentists make me nervous, too, but I've never tried laughing gas.

Nitrous is great, whether you're in the dentist office or anywhere else. But let me tell you, nothing will make you feel stupid like the day after going bananas with a tank of that stuff.

You can actually feel your brain cells leaking out your ears.

Well then....my first reply needs a slight edit. I have had nitrous oxide, just not in a dentists office.

I am kinda thinking the same way..........it is not safe!

I gave in to it for the first time...only because I hate sitting in a dental chair!

LMAO! I never knew!

But yah, I got it when I was about 10 and it litteraly made me laugh non stop. (this was before I built up a... we'll say... 'healthy' tolerance to foreign substances)

These days, I prefer to get completely knocked out.... can't stand the needles, crunching, and drilling.

Once a buddy of mine had a whole tank of that stuff. his brother worked for some oxygen company and had a tank filled somehow. All I can say is,, "Wah wah wah wah"
I had a tooth break in half from a mosh pit and I asked for the gas when he went to pull it. It sucked b/c it relaxed me but wore off when he pulled the sucker. He just gave me gas, no novicane and that was some PAIN!

Cars love "smelling" nitrous. Many hot rodders use in as a additive in the induction stream to increase power by over 50 %. If you see a Honda blowing by you and "laughing".. it's probably on nitrous.
