We are now exactly 1 week from the draft. Time to make our somewhat unlikely prediction.
Wild predictions that might come true but probably won't.
I have 3:

1, Jaxon Dart gets drafted before Sheduer Sanders
2, 4 Qb's go in round 1
3, 3 Running backs get drafted in Round 1

Sanders gets drafted by Pittsbugh

Hunter + Dart = This is the way.

We draft Jeanty with our first round pick. We need a good RB badly. We’ve signed some edge rushers in FA to help Myles and they might be questions about how to use Hunter.

You beat me to it, but in my scenario, we trade down a few spots first hoping to get a 1st next year.,

Also, maybe no OL in the top 15

I have been thinking about that scenario and becoming more and more fond of it.

Problem is that we cannot trade too far because Jax, LV and possibly NE could take him with their pick.
I like the idea of trading down with NE

NE trades up to get Hunter or Carter which they would otherwise miss out on
Should NE or NYG take Jeanty which is unlikely, then we still get Hunter or Carter

All this scenario does for me is give me nightmares of Trent Richardson.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

If jeanty turns into richardson then yes, terrible pick but if he turns into saquan barkley then we would all be pretty happy with it

Jeanty is a much better prospect than Richardson. I remember when Jim Brown was asked about him before the draft he said TR was mediocre. He was right.

Trent Richardson. Lacked vision like Ray Charles, but in one solid half-season with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, he almost helped them win a playoff game.

Nobody gave a top 10 pick for Chubb. Nobody gave a top 10 pick for Derrick Henry either. Somebody will give a high pick for Jeanty. I just don't think it will be the Browns FO. There are a lot of very good backs in this draft.

My unpredictable prediction is that we get exactly who many think we will get with the first two picks: Hunter and Milroe. I think Hunter is highly likely unless we can trade down and get a lot more than than conventional wisdom dictate by way of the draft value board. Milroe at the top of 2 or somewhere in the 20's is less likely but I think it's going to happen.

But the colts did give us a 1st round pick for TR tongue

I agree though that someone will pick Jeanty in the 1st
I agree that there is almost zero chance that it is us

Yep, it floored me when he said that but as it turned out, he was right. 'Denial always comes first.'

I agree.

We won't draft Jenty at #2, we won't trade down, at least to draft him.

The draft is stacked with good running backs this year. We could still get one in the 5th round, though I don't want to wait that long. I'd draft my second back in maybe the 5th round. If it was me, I would be targeting a back in the 3rd round. Maybe the 4th depending on how the draft was breaking.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

I saw where Dallas may be interested in trading with us for our 1st round #2 pick. I don't know what they'd be offering but if I were our FO I would definitely listen. I would ask for their #1 next year and their #2 this year for starters.

I think you hit on a very important factor when you said "depending on how the draft was breaking." Sometimes in the draft a run on a position starts. Be it OT's, CB's or any other position. If it's a position your team sorely needs you have to be able to hit the sweet spot. Players are broken down into groups of quality. As far as we go at RB I would say that the sweet spot is to get a RB rated in the upper tier of backs before they are depleted and you get into your second group of backs yet try not to spend too much draft capital in doing that. Where and when you draft a RB is very much hinges on " how the draft was breaking."

Here is a prediction that I haven't heard mentioned by anyone
NE drafts => Ty Warren
They give Josh McDaniels his next Gronkowski

To go from #12 to #2 overall, you are looking at #12, #44, 2026 first and 2027 first... that leaves a few crumbs in Dallas favor left over on the value chart. I don't know what they would be targeting to try to move up that far. ANYONE would be interested in moving up to #2, they have their choice of any prospect short of Ward.. the value has to be there though. Missing on either Hunter or Carter, or even Jeanty for that matter.. You need to have a very good understanding of what you are getting at #12 and #44. There need to be 43 players you want and are ready to smack the table for, before I would consider the trade. 2026 and 2027 are too far out to know anything about the prospects. We do have 2025 in front of us.

#2 overall, Travis Hunter/Abdul Carter, #33 overall (Jaxson Dart/Emeka Egbuka/Treyveon Henderson/James Pearce Jr.)
Vs.
#12 overall (Tet McMillan/Kevin Banks Jr/Mykel Williams/Colsten Loveland), #33 overall (Jaxson Dart/Emeka Egbuka/Treyveon Henderson/James Pearce Jr.), #44 overall (Nic Scourten/Xavier Watts/Aireontae Ersery/Quinshon Judkins)

If we were getting the two future firsts, I personally would think the extra prospect at #44 would be enough to propel the value of Hunter/Carter loss in our favor. If it were only one future first, I wouldn't be so sure. I think Hunter and Carter are franchise changers by themselves, in this scenario, a combo of say Mykel Williams and Quinshon Judkins would need make up that change in their place, which I believe is possible. The future first is great, especially if you are "hoping" for a QB in the 2026 draft. But, no matter how many future picks you get, there is no certainty they will be in a position to move up far enough to get one of them. We could easily see a situation where there are 4 QBs in the 2026 draft that are better than the best prospect in 2025... however, if the Browns sneak into the playoffs moving from 19-24 up to the top 4 picks might be impossible, depending on who are in those spots already. QB needy teams don't care about future picks, they care about the QB that is staring them in the face.

I hate "planning" for the future. I would rather see them take the player I think can move the needle now. Either Hunter or Carter, I believe can do that. It gets real murkey after them.

As for predictions, I predict we don't make any day 1 trades.
#2 overall Travis Hunter

Friday
#33 overall, if Omarion Hampton makes it to day two, I think he will be the pick. If not, it will be a player expected to be taken in round one that because of FOUR QBs being drafted{prediction} drops to our pick, could be Hampton, or someone like Josh Simmons, Nick Emmanwori or Derrick Harmon.
#67 a defensive player or Harold Fannin Jr. Too many nice defensive prospects in this range that will outweigh some of the offensive line and wide receiver prospects they will see here... and #94 will be a project QB.
