Ohio has what? 10 Sparkle Markets? I have a local guy who owns some hens. He gives us as many as we need for empty cartons in return. Prices in my area are hovering around $9 a doz. Wholesale prices are at $4 a doz. That has to be killing restaurants and bakeries.

I'm not going so far as to blame trump for these latest air tragedies. Many have been by privately owned helicopters and small planes. The situation at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport where military planes and helicopters fly so close to civilian jets has been an an accident waiting to happen for many years. It was ill conceived at it's inception. That situation was in no way created by trump.

What I will say is with air travel at it's current level and these incidents being on the rise, it's certainly a fools errand to be cutting jobs at the FAA which pertain to safety. The unions reported that some of those DOGE cuts at the FAA included employees had direct roles in supporting safety inspectors and airport operations. Included were aviation safety assistants, maintenance mechanics and nautical information specialists.............

They are the types of workers tasked with helping aircraft safety inspectors, repairing air traffic control facilities and updating digital maps that pilots use in flight, such as making any changes that the FAA may direct for airplanes flying in Washington airspace following last month’s fatal midair collision.

https://apnews.com/article/faa-firings-trump-doge-safety-airlines-27390c6a7aac58063652302df5a243d3

There is currently a big shortage in air traffic controllers. Also not a situation that trump created. But certainly a situation that should be a high priority to address.

Many times grocery stores have sales on items where they lose money just to get shoppers in the door and make up for it on other items purchased. As an example Kroger sold turkeys at Thanksgiving for 49 cents a pound. It's certainly a great way to get customers to come through the door.

Because causing service members to be killed and letting Americans be raped and killed by illegals, while you usher in more, is the same as helicopters falling out of the sky.

(P)resident Biden caused disaster after disaster, he's easily the worst president of our time. If you put him in front of a window at a nursing home you would have those residents raising eyebrows. Yet you had an entire party and state media covering up for him. As well as all of you here trying to call dementia a stutter.

So no, none of these tragedies were "made political", they were the result of the most inept political leadership our country has ever seen.

If blaming the acts of a lone suicide bomber on Biden isn't political in your view I'm not sure you have any idea what that means.

Trump went to Mar-a-lago again this weekend. I think he’s been there every weekend since he took office. That’s a lot of tax payer dollars being spent on golf while the SOB takes away healthcare and food from kids, amongst all the other pain he’s causing.

He knew the job requirements when he took the job. Government officials aren't supposed to be working from home anymore. DOGE needs to get on this.

Trump says CBS should lose license after ’60 Minutes’ segments on Ukraine, Greenland

President Trump railed against CBS on Sunday night, saying the network should lose its broadcast license after “60 Minutes” aired segments on Ukraine and Greenland that the president said cast him in a negative light.

“Almost every week, 60 Minutes … mentions the name ‘TRUMP’ in a derogatory and defamatory way, but this Weekend’s ‘BROADCAST’ tops them all,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post after watching Sunday’s “60 Minutes” broadcast.

“They did not one, but TWO, major stories on ‘TRUMP,’ one having to do with Ukraine, which I say is a War that would never have happened if the 2020 Election had not been RIGGED, in other words, if I were President and, the other story was having to do with Greenland, casting our Country, as led by me, falsely, inaccurately, and fraudulently,” he continued.

Trump sued CBS News in October over a “60 Minutes” interview with his campaign opponent, former Vice President Kamala Harris, that aired shortly before the 2024 presidential election. In the lawsuit, Trump claimed the network deceptively edited the interview to portray Harris in a positive light.

CBS News’s parent company, Paramount, has said the president’s lawsuit is an “affront to the First Amendment and is without basis in law or fact,” claiming Trump is trying to “punish a news organization for constitutionally protected editorial judgments they do not like.”

The New York Times reported earlier this month that Trump and Paramount are set to begin mediation in the $20 billion lawsuit, in the hopes of reaching a settlement.

The Hill has reached out to CBS News for comment on Trump’s latest remarks.

It’s unclear exactly what prompted Trump’s ire, but both segments quoted foreign leaders criticizing Trump.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in the interview, told correspondent Scott Pelley that “Russian narratives are prevailing in the U.S.” and welcomed Trump to visit the country.

“We want you to come, and, I think, to come and to see. You think you understand what’s going on here. OK, we respect your position. You understand. But, please, before any kind of decisions, any kind of forms of negotiations, come to see people, civilians, warriors, hospitals, churches, children destroyed or dead,” Zelensky said.

The “60 Minutes” report on Greenland featured various political and business leaders criticizing Trump’s ambitions to control the territory.

Controlling the narrative of the media. Sounds like he is suffering from the "Putin effect".

Yet that's the very opposite of what's in the current budget the GOP is trying to pass.

So? Who cares? Who is a millionaire here?

Let’s talk about trumps promise to not tax Social security and tips. I’m still paying taxes on SS and I have voluntarily reduced my payments withholding 20% and still owe more when I do taxes. Just talk. Bla bla bla. As if Trump will ever raise taxes on millionaires and billionaires. Pffft they put him up on that post. Flipping Post Tortuous.

I find it hysterical that a guy who was fine with Biden administration agencies meeting with Facebook, instagram and others to tell them which posters’ words should not be published is overwrought with a few random words Trump utters. Apparently a believer in selective freedom of speech.

Well there seems to be an effort to convince people that President Trump is not following thru on campaign promises. So I thought I would go the other way. One of the two or three biggest campaign issues was the border. The crisis at the border, aka the Biden border disaster. Trump promised he would fix it so how has he done?

Now of course I know that the border crisis cannot be fixed without congressional action. I know this because a couple of you lefties told me so repeatedly. Congress must act to fix the border.

So how is the border?? Well I’m not gonna bore you with lots of numbers, just one story I heard a week or two ago. Do you remember Eagle Pass Texas? An epicenter for the Biden border disaster. Just a couple of years ago they were seeing between 3000 and 4000 illegals per day. That is “per day”!! Now they are seeing less than 300 per day. In fact it has improved so much that the border patrol has closed the processing facility there called “firefly”. The numbers everywhere on the southern border are reaching astounding new lows according to border patrol.

Since we “know” congressional action was needed to fix the border crisis, and since to a large degree it seems to be fixed, there must have been something passed by congress to make this happen. I know that because you lefties told me so. So I googled it and lo and behold congress has not done anything to solve the crisis. So apparently you lefties were all wet!! Wrong………again. So maybe my suggestion was right all along. All we needed was a president who cared about our border and would do what it takes to fix it.

And I think it is gonna get better and better as long as we elect people who care. So the border is a Trump promise kept!!

If you're asking me to justify the Biden administration's actions whatsoever, I won't. If you're asking me to constantly focus on which is racing to the bottom at a faster rate, I won't do that anymore either. What I will do is point out an obvious pressure point in our crumbling democracy that we do need to address. I hope it's something that we all do, or at least come to do, rather than jabbing each other (aside from the casual ball busting).

05, the heads of those social media organizations are not innocent in this. They allowed themselves to be bullied, pushed, pressured into doing the government’s bidding and blocking the accounts of people who were not parroting the government orthodoxy. Zuckerberg has said they felt pressured and should not have censored these people.

Picture this 05. It is 1971 and the Nixon administration sends G Gorden Liddy and John Dean to the New York Times. They tell the times they do not want the Times to publish the Pentagon papers. What do you think the Times would have said?? Maybe something akin to “stick it where the sun don’t shine”. Maybe?

But we know what they did. They went to court to prevent the government from exercising prior restraint on the words they could publish. You see, back then liberals like the Times felt the same was as I do about free speech. So they were published. Too bad these tech guys didn’t have the same backbone as Sulzberger in 1971.

But in both those cases the government engaged in efforts to restrict free speech. In 1971 they failed. But in the 2020’s they succeeded in pressuring weak kneed executives to censor.

Hey Keith, hope you've been doing well.

I find that everyone in power, especially these days, wants to restrict speech and journalistic publishing when it goes against what their party wants. You cited the example of the social media organizations and Zuckerberg talking about feeling pressure. Keep in mind that Zuckerberg was also threatened with being "jailed for life" I believe by the previous admin for plotting against them in 2020. Trump just recently went after 60 Minutes talking about how they should "pay a big price."

There are previous institutions that we held sacred due to the Constitution, namely the Bill of Rights, which have now been targeted. Are they completely innocent in all this? No, especially when it comes to social media. The Zuckerbergs, Musks, Murdochs, et al of the world will sway and throw assets at whatever is best for them at any given moment. I'm pretty sure if Satan himself offered Zuckerberg double the land for his estate in Kauai for creating an algorithm that amplifies a narrative that Jesus was a communist anarchist, that he would implement it.

So as trump has threatened to take away the license of networks and just a couple of days ago told the FCC they should take away 60 minutes broadcast license all because they're "being mean to him" you and FATE are whining about the Biden administrating meeting with social media outlets about stopping the spread of false information during Covid? You act kike that's the same thing? This is what happens when you aren't paying attention.

The only people who are in denial are those who can't see what's clearly staring them right in the face and that's not me. I love how you avoided every point I made. Typical.

Is threatening TV networks and shows by taking their FCC license away so they can no longer broadcast by a president that doesn't like the stories they report seem like how a democracy is supposed to work to you? Is that what is meant by "freedom of the press"?

How about signing an executive order demanding the DOJ investigate people he considers his political enemies?

Focus.

To re-bolster the original point I had made during this sub-discussion, here we have it from Josh Hawley, who I am assuming is someone within your political approval realm. I see him as a grand-stander and rather disingenuous, but I think that applies to a lot of people on both sides of the aisle in Congress. Anyhow, this is an exchange worth watching, and it really underscores the opportunism:

Oh, you mean when domestic terrorist communicate their lies and real people didn’t want that trash all over there social media? Hmm… I’ll stand up for MAGA’s free speech when they act sane again, quit accepting nut-job conspiracy theories as true facts, and stop trying to kill my country. Until then, you can settle for normal speech on topics you actually understand, which isn’t much.

He hasn't been paying attention again unless it has been something he wants to hear...................

Two dozen current and former election officials urge Congress to pass anti-doxxing legislation ahead of 2024 election

https://issueone.org/press/two-doze...ngress-to-pass-anti-doxxing-legislation/

Trump called for several boycotts during first term (canceled)........................

A list of people and things Donald Trump tried to get canceled before he railed against ‘cancel culture’

November 2012: Trump suggests the firing of then-MSNBC host Chris Matthews for saying, on the night of Obama’s victory, that he was “so glad” Hurricane Sandy had occurred, because of its political impact. (Matthews had apologized before Trump’s suggestion.)

December 2012: Trump calls for the firing of Vanity Fair magazine Editor Graydon Carter, with whom he had feuded for years, over what he declares the magazine’s “worst ever issue.”

December 2012: Trump says “Scots should boycott Glenfiddich garbage” because the whisky brand selected Michael Forbes, a farmer who refused to sell his land to make way for a Trump golf course, as “Top Scot” of the year.

March 2013: Trump says, “Everyone should cancel HBO until they fire low life dummy Bill Maher! Get going now and feel good about yourself!”

He promised lower inflation , lower food prices, the end of Ukraine war and a bunch of other bs on day one. None of which happened. You know what he did on day one. He signed a bunch of executive orders that were all part of the project 2025 that he knew nothing about. How did all that paperwork get done if he knew nothing about project 2025? He also pardon thousands of convicted criminals.
