Defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich is being named the New York Jets interim head coach, per source.

Teams start feeling the heat .. I wonder if Watson's days are numbered now

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I think it was pretty clear he and Rogers weren't on the same page. The QB wins.

At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

Jets are in a win now... Rodgers has maybe 1-2 years left in the tank.

Or will ownership side with Watson and Stefanski gets the ax? Haslam has more money tied up in Watson than he does Stefanski.

Not much of a surprise with Saleh getting the boot. Jets are another franchise that can’t get out of their own way.

Normally I'd agree, but firing a 2 time COY (including LAST YEAR) is a really bold/bad move IMO. Plus, the fans, in general, like KS more than Watson. Nobody likes Watson

Saleh has had Rodgers as QB for five games. Rodgers has stunk in two games.

They are one game out of first.

Saleh was considered all world as a DC. He goes to a team with no QB. Holds the team together and are competitive.

He gets promised a QB and they bring in Rodgers.

Now they fire him five games into a season.

Head coach in the NFL. Not For Long.

Rogers stinks so Saleh gets the axe. Typical NFL move. I wouldn't be surprised to see the same move happen here.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

When things go bad on the field of play.

The immediate scapegoats are the QB and Head Coach. Sometimes followed by the OC and DC.

No matter who calls the plays fans always want a new play caller. Which in many ways is ironic because fans don't have a playbook and do not know the plays.

So their response is mostly "why did he pass or run?

One thing that stands the test of time when there is success on offense. The head coach and QB are joined at the hip.

Reid/Mahomes. Brady/Belichick, Payton/Brees.

They have to believe in each other. They work together through thick and thin.

KS has had success with many different qb's. DW and KS right now are not in sync. Frankly, I doubt they will ever be there.

I agree with everything you posted there ^. I'd add these:

I don't get mad about KS calling run or pass...I get mad in certain situations where he's trying to be cute and 'catch the D' by surprise. (Smartest guy on the filed BS.) My biggest beef = he loves to go for it on 4th down. Weird at times, but I'm mostly ok with it. HOWEVER, his playcalling on 3rd and short often looks like that of a guy with no intention of going for it on 4th down. Some long-developing pass play or some slow-a$$ reverse on 3rd down with no gain...followed by a Winston snap/sneak on 4th down. Trickity-doo.

RE: getting in synch with DW...guys are open all over the place and DW has the time to make the throws...he just doesn't make them...or many times won't even throw the damn ball. That Quincy Carrier breakdown is astonishing. DW is toast...I don't know what more KS can do for DW. KS on other matters Browns? I'll just say I won't be sad if he gets thrown out with the bath water.

This organization doesn't do anything well...other than spend Jimmy's money.

Play calling is in some ways like a catcher calling a pitch. Except there are a lot more plays than types of pitches and pitch locations.

Let's say a catcher calls for a fastball low and away. The pitcher misses and the ball is middle in. Sometimes they get away with it. Sometimes Not.

When a play is called; sure it can be a bad call. It can also be poor execution.

The end results are what happens in games. That is the nature of sports.

I have watched football for over 60 years. I don't care if it was Lindy Infante, Bruce Arians, or Bill Belichick.

Fans always complain about play calling and believe they could do better. Except fans have maybe a third of the information of the guy who is calling the plays.

Good players and good teams execute well. When that happens coaches look like geniuses.

When they don't execute fans want them fired. Then the new play caller calls plays and not much changes.

Do you think the better option is to run a play the opposing D is expecting? The play they are most prepared to stop? The most predictable play? That seems quite counterintuitive to success.

Again...no doubt about any of that ^. At some point though, the lack of execution - when it doesn't get better and maybe gets worse - starts shedding light on the coaching of the team and the talent acquired. There is nothing we do well or that is worth holding on to.
