Just curious if anyone on here have had a hip replacement? My blushing bride just had one an is on her way home now.
Not worried as her daughter is a nurse as well and will be staying at our house till needed.

Both my brother and sister have had hip replacements.
My brother's surgery went well and all his pain from before the surgery went away.
My sister had complications. She had to have a second surgery. She was around 80 or so and since the surgery has to use a cane.

My 81-year-old mom had one in May, and my sister,a nurturer if there ever was one, looked after her like a champ. Mom still needs a walker most of the time, she is after all, 81, but she’s pretty much pain-free and happy she had it done. She keeps up her exercise regimen the doctor gave her, so she says.

I have not, but a kid I grew up with has had em both done and now squats close to 350#.
Hip replacements are WAY better than knees.

Had both mine done. One in 2017 the other in 2020. No problems either time. Just follow the directions the Doctor gives and do the exercises with the Physical Therapist. The 2nd one I had done I was operated on at 8 in the morning and was on my way home at 4:30 that afternoon.

Had my left hip done in 2018 at 70- kept overnight, walked couple hrs after surgery- zero problem. I'm 76 now and give it no thought.

On 4/24/2015 I had bilateral knee replacement (both knees replaced at the same time) with the Implant Type: Stryker Bilateral Knees.
Just curious as my wife recently came home after having her left hip replaced. Ironically, the Doc that did my knees is the same doctor who replaced her hip.
