Stats don’t lie. I think it’s perfectly fine that KS is calling the plays. If DW is anywhere near his former self we’re going to have a very good offense.
I know it’s the risk manager in me but I hope we open with caution with Nick. It’s going to be a long tough season and it’s the 2nd half and beyond that I want full use of his services. So I hope we open with a running back by committee approach for the 1st half of the season, establish momentum with some of the other guys hopefully. We may not have a choice, we may need all our weapons to win every game but I hope for “budgeting” in the early months.

Even assuming he is ready game one, no way he starts getting a full load. He is at the point of his career that full load might mean something different than 20 something carries.
His carry volume is going to be way less, even late in the season.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

It has. He wanted Stefanski both times he interviewed for the position. He established guardrails which seem to be sustainable but not inflexible. He has proven to be a valuable member of the FO.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
That was a little sarcastic dig at those who actually feel that way. A while back someone was complaining that the FO, namely Podesta, didn't prioritize winning.

My apologies, Sir.

I think it all started with Rishuz, who kept saying Stefanski doesn't prioritize winning. Then it just became a punchline for picking on anyone on the roster, or in the front office.

Jimmy Haslam says Browns wants to get an extension done with Paul DePodesta
July 29, 2024 4:17 pm ET
Early in June, the Cleveland Browns extended Kevin Stefanski and Andrew Berry, locking up two of the organization’s most important pieces. Owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam were asked on Saturday about the other part of the brain test Paul DePodesta and if they had extended him as well.
“Paul has not. We’re working through the situation with Paul. It’s a little bit different because he lives in San Diego, but we’re comfortable Paul will remain with us in some very important fashion for the long term.”
Cleveland’s culture shift with this brain trust in charge has been significant as they look to build a consistent winner year after year. Not a ton is known about DePodesta’s role with the team, but if he is trusted, then I am all for him being here as long as the other two.
