Yep, just last year after week one out RT was out for the year and after week 2 our top 3-5 RB was gone for the season. Take a valuable position player ranked top 5 in his group and remove him from any team it has to have an effect.

You must have depth but you can get to a point where you are toast.

I hate to even say this but take Myles out of the defense. Entirely different defense.

Many seasons have come and gone.

Many of those seasons began with no hope at all. Rosters that stank to high heaven. Rosters you knew had to chance.

The 2024 season is not far away. By any measuring stick this is a top rated roster.

DW is the wild card.

I am fine with that. I am looking forward to the season. We have a chance to be damn good. That is all you can ask for.

Sure I wish we had Mahomes. But that boat sailed.

There are a bunch of really good players on the Browns to watch and be excited about. Myles for one.

Then we have the return of Nick. The number one defense.

Let's GO.

I don't pay much attention to betting odds.

My thinking is we are sitting at 8.5 because there are the questions with Watson and Chubb. Will Watson return to a top 10 type QB and when will Chubb return and how good will he be when he does return? If he returns?

Having those questions on two players as critical as they are to our offense has to knock us down a game or two.

There is not a predicted 8.5 win total because of the difficulty of our schedule.
There is not a predicted 8.5 win total because of the questions about Watson.
There is not a predicted 8.5 win total because of Chubb is coming off an injury.
There is not a predicted 8.5 win total because "Vegas" thinks we will win 8 or 9 game.

There is an over/under 8.5 win total because that's what "Vegas" believes is required to get an equal number of gamblers on both sides of this bet. Period, end of story.

Why does it seem low? The Browns are always a hard sell. That's how they entice people to bet the over.

No argument from me. I have never placed a bet.

Don't know a thing about Vegas other than it is in Nevada.

PFF posted unit rankings. I posted what they posted.

I thought it curious that after ranking all the units so high that they predicted 8.5 wins in light of how we won eleven last year with all the injuries.

That's all. I know that it centers on the DW question.

I know that if the Browns weren’t my team I’d kinda root for them to fail because of DW. I know for a fact many people indeed feel exactly this. I know what betting lines are about but, like the stock market, they’re more emotional and less rational than most proponents tend to acknowledge. They’re about what the group feels like as much as what the group thinks. The Browns are historically losers and they have a sketchy injury prone question mark at the most important position. I expect all predictions, both the betting kind and journalist kind to shade the browns lower than higher until they and he prove them wrong.

And I keep going back to DW’s last game against Baltimore. If he plays like that and stays healthy, we’ll be a force, and a hell of a lot better than 8.5.

No problamo.

I am all Browns now. Braves suffered crazy amount of injuries. Guardians are a fun team.

But Camp is beginning and it is beginning to smell like football.

The rest of the world can figure the rest out.

I am going into this season feeling like we have a shot at being a good team. I don't know how many "get um next year I have left."

Let's win this thing now.

I agree Bone. I've been a fan since I was 10 years old. That was 57 years ago. I also don't know how many next years I have. This is probably the most talented roster since I've been a fan. Unfortunately, and this is typical Browns luck, it comes at a time when there are about 7-8 teams in the AFC that are also very talented and have a shot at the SB. Health and DW's play will be paramount to our success.

Opening day is always such a charge.

I just want one year when we are the NFL news story. Like the 85 Bears. Just be a great team once.

I wanna be a great team one time. For crying out loud I was in 11th grade in 1964 when we last won the championship.

It's time to raise a banner.

Let's Go!

At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

You, like most of us, won’t run out of “next years” until we’re either dead, or the Browns win the Super Bowl.

I remember clearly watching him against Watt going "damn."

He stoned Watt. His long arms were a big problem.

But what was so impressive was his feet. Big man can move his feet.

I saw Watt make Chris Hubbard look like his shoes were tied together.

Jones was a great draft find.

Those are factors that set the odds lower. I agree they are betting odds. I have long said it is about getting fairly equal money on each side of the odds. If the money betting starts to get too high on either side, you will see an adjustment to the number to equal out the money gambled.

I just mentioned why the odds might be low. If the money starts to fall on the over, you will see the under move upward to get more money on the under.

You never know.

I am getting older, but I might live another 20 years and get in to my upper 90's, I might live another 12 hours. You just never know, and that is a good thing. I think knowing when you are going to die would be a lifelong ball and chain attached.

Just take every day as a gift and be happy with that.

There's one thing about getting older. The older you get the less of a deterrent a life sentence becomes. At 25 you could be looking at 50+ years. At 75? naughtydevil

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I feel good about the defense. Schwartz is a damn good coach and Vrabel is his buddy.

I expect them to be good. They have the players and will be well coached.

The offense is where my doubts come in.

Start with DW. We all know the score. He has to play and play well if we are going to get into the playoffs and go far.

The team is good enough to cover some ups and downs. But a time will come when DW will have to win games by playing inspired football.

Early on Dorsey as the new OC will have to show what he brings to the table. The players on offense will have to buy into the playbook. They must see that the system is conceptually sound and fits the personnel.

Obviously the passing game will need to get on the same page quickly. Running the ball is easier to implement.

The passing attack needs lots of reps. Know assignments and know assignment adjustments. That takes time a coordination.

DW early on needs to take charge as the offensive leader. If Watson and the receivers need more work to be in sync. He has to be vocal and make that happen.

A month goes by quick. Lots need to happen in order for an offense to really click.

I feel good overall but at the same time I know there is a much to get done in a short time.

This is the same analyst that had the front seven number one.

I cannot remember ever being ranked so high in every category.
