Now, we all know what it means to be independent – like a Browns fan holding onto hope every season. But this? This takes independence to a whole new level.
Picture this: you, as a sovereign individual, are the ultimate authority over yourself. No, you’re not just another number in a bureaucratic system. You’re a free spirit, governed only by your own personal laws and ethics. This is about living life on your terms, free from what many would call unnecessary interference from big institutions that seem to want to control every aspect of our lives.
Imagine recognizing only the laws that align with your own beliefs and values. It’s about personal sovereignty – the idea that your rights are inherent, not something handed down by some external power. Your home, your land, your possessions – all existing in your own realm, governed by your own rules.
This isn’t chaos or anarchy; it’s about responsibility and self-governance. You take charge of your life, make your own decisions, and stand by them, come what may. Think of it as taking the field without waiting for someone to call the plays – you run the game yourself. It’s about understanding the true essence of liberty and holding firm to your convictions, even if others don’t get it.
This philosophy is deeply rooted in respect for the Constitution, interpreting it in a way that puts you in control. You see the founding documents as protecting individual freedoms, not creating endless rules. When you get a parking ticket or a tax bill, you don’t just accept it without question. You ask, "By what authority does this come?" and you challenge it if you believe it’s unjust. Just like questioning a bad call in a game – you don’t just take it lying down; you fight for what’s right.
And let’s talk about symbols of authority, like the American flag. Did you know that a flag with gold trim represents maritime or admiralty law? That’s right, folks. It’s a signal that the usual laws of the land might not apply in the same way. It’s important to understand these symbols and what they represent, so you know exactly where you stand and what rules are being played by.
So, here’s to real independence, to questioning the status quo, and living life by our own rules. Here’s to the brave souls who take control of their destiny, much like we hope our Browns take control on the field. Stay vigilant, stay free, and never stop questioning.

Sovereign citizen BS which you think gives you the right to be above the law. Here's too the ignorant that believe they can make up their own laws and ignore any laws they disagree with.

What I’m talking about is all theoretical and rooted in the arguments laid out in the Constitution. This isn't some crackpot scheme to be above the law – it's about understanding the principles our country was founded on and how they apply to individual rights and freedoms.
The Constitution is all about protecting individual liberties and limiting the power of government overreach. Theoretical arguments around personal sovereignty are about interpreting these principles to ensure that individual rights are upheld. It’s not about ignoring the law but about questioning and understanding the authority behind it.
I’ve never put this into practice, but the theory itself is extremely interesting. The Founding Fathers put these protections in place to prevent tyranny and ensure that the government serves the people, not the other way around. The idea is to hold onto those freedoms and make sure that every action taken by the government is justified and lawful.
So, while it might sound out there, these ideas have roots in the very documents that define our nation. It’s not about being above the law – it’s about making sure the law works for us, the people.
Let’s keep the conversation grounded in these principles and remember that it’s all about ensuring our freedoms are respected and protected. Go Browns!

The constitution plainly lays out who is responsible for writing the laws of the United States. That would be congress. Not some free for all where everyone makes up their own. If you wish to totally ignore that then why bother reading or claiming you understand what the constitution says?

Most believers of the sovereign citizen BS wind up in jail.
Mental masturbation at its finest.
The argument is an oxymoron at its zenith. You can't state that you are a firm believer in the constitution which begins with "We the people...." and somehow twist is so that you can selectively apply which laws you will follow.
It is totally crackpot.

The actual issue is that people who support what used to be known as the party of personal responsibility, now try to apply negative labels on those who call for the personal accountability of trump. A nasty man who says crazy things, calls people nasty names and is in general a low life. The type of person they used to hold great disdain for is now the symbol of their party who they uphold and make excuses for no matter what he says and does.
And instead of owning it and doing something about it, they point the finger at those who point that out. How a once great party has fallen.

The problem is that the ways you choose to "oppose Trump" frequently tend to have the effect of increasing the support he has by making others want to oppose you rather than join you. If pointing out the facts of what he does and says causes people to support him, it seems you think it's better that nobody point those things out? Or is it the method of the delivery system you think is flawed? He is what he is and supporting that people not speak out about it is supporting nobody that isn't paying close attention should never find out about it. Once again we see the blame being placed on the people who point it out rather than the fact it's being done.

34 felony convictions. For some people those convictions seem to escape them. Then of course there are all of the people in jail over the crimes they committed on Jan. 6th.
I mean I get it. Sometimes certain people go off the deep end. It's just not nearly all of the people or as may people on here as you make it out to be.

Not surprising you choose to ignore the original post and it's message and content and instead try to pick a fight with (I'm sorry - 'debate') with a poster about what they posted. In answer to your comment - anyone forming political opinions and decisions about who to vote for based on Daman's Dawgtalker's posts probably needs to get outside a bit more and find some better sources - assuming there even is such an individual.

I didn't see anything worth instantly fighting about in the original post. I didn't immediately read the initial post the second it was submitted. While I was still considering the post, I continued to read the other posts that were already in the thread. Daman's post added nothing substantive to the thread and made a disparaging remark to a poster new to the boards. That seemed like a lousy approach to discussion, and personally, I'd rather not run off new blood on the boards because what we've had on the boards from the old guard "recently" (and not so recently) has gotten rather pathetic. Be a dick to someone new and I'll call it out. If you disagree with something said in the post, spell it out. Don't attack the person, particularly if you only recently encountered them. It's not just about Daman specifically. It's about the behavior of a large number of supporters of both major parties. They treat each other horribly which only widens the divide instead of actually trying to find common ground which might lead to better "compromise" candidates. As it is, we get lousy candidates because they spend too much time attacking the other guys' candidate, and each other, instead of giving their own guy a long, hard, honest look.

I've been readin' all the feedback on my thought experiment about true American freedom and sovereignty, and it’s clear y’all got some strong opinions. So let’s dive a bit deeper into this theoretical rabbit hole and keep things light-hearted, fun, and downright silly while we do it!
Now, I reckon we all know that Congress is the one who writes the laws of the land. That’s pretty clear in the ol’ Constitution. But what if, just for the sake of arguin’, we imagined a world where folks had a bit more say in their own lives? Think of it like a mental joyride, not a roadmap. Picture a world where everyone’s front yard is a tiny kingdom, complete with its own rules and regulations. It sounds wild, but it’s a thought experiment, not a call to action.
Imagine, for a moment, that your neighbor decides to declare his lawn a “sovereign nation” where the main currency is old baseball cards. Every time you mow his lawn, he pays you in Mickey Mantles and Babe Ruths. Sure, it’d be chaos if everyone did it, but it’s fun to think about, kinda like wonderin’ what the world would be like if dogs could vote.
Now let’s stretch our imaginations a bit more. What if every home was its own sovereign entity with its own laws? Imagine your house having its own constitution. Your living room could be the House of Representatives, and the kitchen could be the Senate. You’d have to pass a bill just to change the channel on TV! It’d be like a mini Congress in every household, where family meetings turn into full-blown legislative sessions. Just think of the debates about who gets the last piece of pie!
And while we’re at it, let’s talk about transportation sovereignty. Every car is its own little country. You’d have to negotiate border crossings at every stoplight. Picture this: “You wanna pass through my intersection? That’ll be three chocolate chip cookies as toll.” Traffic would become a series of diplomatic missions. And don’t even get me started on parking disputes – they’d be international incidents!
But let’s not stop there. Imagine if your mailbox was an embassy. You’d have diplomatic immunity from junk mail. No more getting fined for leaving your Christmas lights up all year – it’s part of your cultural heritage! Your backyard would be a sovereign territory where you could host your own Olympic games. Who wouldn’t want to see the Lawn Chair Javelin or the Slip ‘n Slide 100-meter dash?
Now, here’s a real humdinger – let’s make taxes optional. That’s right, you pay taxes if you feel like it. Think about how motivated folks would be to contribute if it was all voluntary! We’d see bake sales, car washes, and lemonade stands on every corner, all raisin’ money for public projects. Plus, who doesn’t love a good bake sale? Imagine payin’ your property taxes with a double chocolate fudge brownie. Sweet deal, right?
WooferDawg mentioned that most folks who try these wild ideas wind up in jail, and he’s right. That’s a real consequence of takin’ these ideas too seriously. The reality is, laws keep things runnin’ smoothly. Without ‘em, we’d be like a Browns game with no refs – pure pandemonium. It’s like my grandpappy always said, “A little imagination is a good thing, but too much can get you into a heap of trouble.”
And while we’re at it, let’s privatize the weather. Yep, you heard me right. Imagine being able to buy a sunny day for your barbecue or a snowy day for Christmas. Companies would spring up selling weather insurance – pay a monthly fee and guarantee no rain on your parade. Of course, we’d have to deal with weather monopolies, but it’d be worth it for a perfect summer day on demand.
Let’s not forget about education sovereignty. Every family runs its own school with its own curriculum. Want to teach your kids how to fish instead of calculus? Go right ahead! Need a course on building treehouses? You’re the principal, teacher, and superintendent. The school board meetings would be you arguing with yourself in the mirror – always a spirited debate!

The second is an embellishment of something you believe to be true. Those aren't the same thing. I never said they were same. Way to make a meaningless argument. Is your guy a good candidate? You've said no. Does he read off a teleprompter and often seem to need to be directed while being elderly and infirm? Yes. I used hyperbole to say that. I'm sorry that you're obtuse, too.

At least you openly admit what you're doing here and what you are basing this all on. A "theoretical rabbit hole".
A theoretical rabbit hole that has caused so many people that think that way to end up in jail because reality has escaped them. Good luck with that.

The person I'm supporting is the best of the two options we have. Even you have admitted that but now you seem mystified that someone else is pointing that out. You stated both of those things as equal. Now you have decided to clarify that one was statement and one was hyperbole. And then act like everyone who reads it was supposed to know that before you clarified it. Sometimes I don't think you hear yourself.

I think the intentional community and sociocracy approach are potentially more realistic than true individual sovereignty in the way you are describing it. I'm not against a good thought experiment, though.

He's the best of the two options you keep giving, while still being unacceptable to me. Other options are/would be possible if people stopped pushing these pathetic ones. Of course, you believe we should accept these bad options, so we keep having bad options because that's "reality." The reality is that things can and do change. They won't as long as obtuse party drones insist these poor choices are the only possible reality. Or are you one of those the future is fixed truthers? If so, it doesn't matter who anyone votes for. I never said equal. Stop making things up to prop up your illogical arguments. I said bad and worse (or lousy and lousier.) I don't have to talk while I type or use my toes to count past ten, so, no, I don't hear myself.

Once again, show any plausible way that another candidate outside of the two major parties nominees that has a chance to make the ballot in 36 states in less than two months. You keep shouting that rhetoric with no realistic way to explain how that's possible. And I expect nothing different moving forward.
I do believe you when you say you don't hear yourself. I'm sure of that even when you read what you're posting that you can't hear it.
You made two comments one after the other. There was no clarification that one was factual and one was hyperbole. Once again all you can do is dance around that.

Reading this makes me think of a couple of things. One is a quote from Keanu Reeves - the other I heard from James O'Brien on LBC (because Swish switched me onto this outstanding sensible and intelligent broadcaster)....
"I'm at that stage in life where I stay out of discussions. Even if you say 1+1=5, you're right - have fun." - Keanu Reeves
"You can't both be right, but you CAN both be wrong" - James O'Brien trying to get people to consider perhaps they are not infallible and to consider other perspectives instead of 'I am right' or 'I am the one that is speaking truth'.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

If people stop supporting those candidates, magically they'll be able to support other candidates. Rocket Science! I know. ...I don't read with my ears? Most people do so with their eyes. You reading with your ears would explain a lot. I made no claims of "fact" for either comment. You are the one that keeps trying to turn things into facts that aren't.

Possibly the worst post ever. You would have made an excellent J6 Jailbird Why do you have to go there? Oh, that's right, trump derangement syndrome no matter what. Those of us that oppose Trump and everything he stands for aren't the ones suffering from TDS...It's those that follow him blindly that have that particular problem. The problem is that the ways you choose to "oppose Trump" frequently tend to have the effect of increasing the support he has by making others want to oppose you rather than join you. How exactly would you suggest I oppose the 34 Time Convicted felon, Three times caught Cheating spouse, as yet unconvicted public figure that started an insurrection that also stole secret and top secret documents from the government? Did I forget to mention that he loves the 10 commandments! He just doesn't practice them. As for my method of Opposing him causing increased support for him only shows the weak minded individuals that can't see the forest for the trees. The guy is a criminal Yes, the guy is a criminal. Your guy is a decrepit puppet that has to have his string pulled to function. Instead of wasting time and venting anger attacking the lousy candidates, it might be more constructive to try to find a candidate you both can agree on. That won't happen while you're busy attacking each other. We at least agree the guy is a criminal. Good. As for my guy being decrepit and a puppet, do you have any factual information to prove any of that. No, you don't. Like so much of what you post, you don't know what you don't know. If you don't mind, I'll vent any damn way I want to. It's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. As for attacking people, you just don't like the fact that I disagree with you. That sounds like a YOU problem.

If people stop supporting those candidates, magically they'll be able to support other candidates. Rocket Science! I know. Yeah, I know the "if people" part has you stumped. You do realize that one third of all voters are registered Republicans and one third of them are registered Democrats and that "if people" weren't your scenario would carry a bit of weight. But that's not the reality. I know you like the "if people" part but if people had the ability to fly they wouldn't need to drive cars. I don't disagree with you about how I wish it were. The only difference is that isn't the way it is. At least not at this current point in time where it would have any impact on the 2024 election. Rocket Science!. I know. I don't read with my ears? Most people do so with their eyes. You reading with your ears would explain a lot. If your brain can't hear your own thoughts that would explain a lot as well. I made no claims of "fact" for either comment. You are the one that keeps trying to turn things into facts that aren't. You made no attempt to differentiate between the two comments and actually placed them one after the other. I know, that's everyone elses fault because they can't read your mind. I will give you one thing. You are great the art of deflection.

You have to remember he only meant one of those two statements and it was up to you to try and figure out which one he actually meant. Shame on you for not being able to do that! What happened to your ESP?

That sounds like a YOU problem. Ummm, yes, there is some factual information that I can provide. Here's a link to a .PDF of Biden's last physical. link It can be found on whitehouse.gov if the link doesn't work. In the summary, you'll see he has obstructive sleep apnea, a-fib, hyperlipidemia, gastro esophageal reflux, seasonal allergies, spinal arthritis (described earlier as moderate to severe,) and sensory peripheral neuropathy of the feet. The report also mentions having several skin cancers removed and comments on his "stiffened gait" and recent hip pain. He's in his 80s. Decrepit feels like a valid adjective to describe someone who those facts are attached to, to me.

If your brain can't hear your own thoughts that would explain a lot as well. Not everyone has an internal monologue. There you go thinking you know something that you don't again. According to this article ( link,) 50-70% of folks don't have words in their heads. Is the voice in your head really loud? Does it scream nonsense a lot?

So you're making a lame excuse why you don't comprehend the words you are posting? Brilliant!

So you're making a lame excuse why you don't comprehend the words you are posting? Brilliant! Really, Pit, that's all you've got? Can't even quote my "lame excuse" because you know I didn't make one and the post you're replying to refuted the latest wrong info you spouted? I don't need to be brilliant. Just observant and well read. ...Do you see lightbulbs over people's heads, too? What all other strange phenomena go on inside that head of yours? Are there sparks when you have ideas? ...Eh, probably no sparks.... A smell like burnt toast when you try to think? ...you never did tell us about that voice you hear....
