I know there are a few golf fans in here.
I have played and watched golf for a long time. If Scottie Sheffler stays healthy, he is on par with Jack and Tiger. The guy is a stud. Tee to green he is unbeatable. If his putter is working, everybody else is playing for 2nd place. He scares the field like Jack and Tiger did. Everybody in the field knew that if they were on, it was about 80% over.
Congrats Scottie on an impressive, run away performance on the back 9 at Augusta. Some might think others got stupid. As Morikawa said, he got greedy. That was the Sheffler effect. He had to take chances because Sheffler forced him to get greedy and take chances. Just like Jack and Tiger forced guys to take chances.

It was really impressive how Scheffler put the hammer down on the back nine and pulled away. I agree, he may be the next Great One. If he stays healthy, he'll win a bunch more majors. As you said, more or less, Sheffler is awesome off the tee, & his iron play is as good as anyone's. His putting isn't the best but he gives himself so many good looks he can pile up enough birdies to be a contender almost every week.
As an aside, maybe it's time Rory stops getting so much air time, he might now be just another guy.

I don't watch much golf, but I try to see the Masters and the Brittish Open. That was one dominating performance down the stretch. You're right about the other golfers playing scared against Scheffler. He has nerves of steel. He had a brief little bump in the road on Saturday but it didn't phase him. He sure doesn't look like he's only 27yo, he looks like a mature elite veteran at the top of his game. Nothing youthful about him. And he did that with an expecting wife at home.

I think you and I were born the same year - or close - so you're ready to tee off on 13 or 14 yourself.

I’m 57 and yes, I should re-calibrate my situation. Screw it, I’m on 11 as well.

Sweet. The halfway house had a hottie behind the bar, let's backtrack and grab a cold one.
