The Browns added a veteran linebacker today in Keith Adams, one of several roster moves the team announced.
The Browns were awarded center Marvin Philip via waivers from the Pittsburgh Steelers. To make room they waived center Greg Eslinger and linebacker Colby Bockwoldt, who was signed just last week. Also, the Browns made two moves on their practice squad, signing tight end Brad Cieslak and waiving tight end Jonny Harline.
Adams (5-11, 238) has made 23 starts over six years in the NFL, with Dallas, Philadelphia and Miami. He played in 15 games last season with the Dolphins, but has not played this season. Adams played for Philadelphia from 2002-05 and had his best season in 2005 when he started 16 games and a career-high 101 tackles.
Philip (6-1, 307) has spent the season on the Steelers practice squad. He was a sixth-round draft choice out of California in 2006.
Cieslak (6-3, 262) appeared in two games with Buffalo this season and was waived on Dec. 6. The Browns play Buffalo on Sunday. He joined the Bills as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Northern Illinois in 2005.
